The man's psychopathic obsession with Islam disqualifies him from any position of public trust or civil power.

On the matter of Europe, he and Nigel Farage have a valid point, but not because European integration is ipso facto a bad thing, or that the preservation of a series of petty sovereignties is an inherently good thing.

The European Union, precisely because there is not sufficient commonality for a single electoral system across Europe, is considerably less democratic, less accountable to a voting constituency, than the elected national governments. The power of the elected European parliament are limited, and voters therefore don't pay much attention to elections for it.

The EU, unlike, say, the United States of America, was primarily a creation of governments. The U.S. Constitution, once ratified, was intended to be directly responsible to an entire people, directly, not only through the medium of individual states governments, and to act directly upon the same population.

The bureaucracy in Brussels, being the creation of states, not of The People of Europe, is in no position to turn and rule those same states.

But God help us if Geert Wilders with his perverse xenophobic obsessions is the primary voice articulating the real weaknesses of the EU.
