Sounds like President Obama is getting desperate. Here is today's e-mail.
"Friend --
I just got back
from Iowa, where we are being outspent 2 to 1 on the air. Voters there mentioned
it to me more than once.
We expect Mitt Romney and the Republicans to
outspend us.
What I will not abide is getting outspent by a margin that
negates all the hard work our volunteers are doing -- talking to voters,
knocking on doors, making calls.
We are in control of that outcome, but
our time to close the gap is dwindling. After three consecutive months of being
significantly outraised, it couldn't be more urgent.
Will you make a
donation of $3 or more?

If
we win this election, it will be because of what you did.
I don't get to
tell you enough how grateful I am.
Thank you,
Barack
P.S.
-- In a few weeks, I'll accept our party's nomination for president onstage in
Charlotte, North Carolina. I wouldn't be there without you. Any donation you make today automatically enters
you and a guest for a chance to join me and Michelle as VIP guests of the
convention. Hope to see you there."

What do you think? Do we detact a negative tone in this message? I almost think he is angry.
Strike that.

Who cares how much money Romney spends?
That's going to have little or no impact on how people vote. About 90 percent of voters have already made up their minds.
The Koch brothers didn't win the recall campaign for Scott Walker. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin did, by setting up the recall as a rerun of 2010, when voters faced with Scott Walker vs. Tom Barrett chose Walker. Duh-uh.
As a matter of fact, voters in Milwaukee have just shown how little money has to do with it, if a candidate is willing to get out and knock on doors, write personal notes, get on the phone personally to ask voters for their support...
A Republican-leaning outfit from Michigan called American Federation for Children, funded by Amway money, spent $100,000 on mailers and robocalls for five candidates in the Democratic legislative primaries, and all five lost, including an incumbent.
It was funny to see these Republican-financed leaflets targeting Milwaukee voters featuring headlines about "the Republicans are trying to steal your vote" through voter ID laws, and that's why we should vote for the Republican-backed Democrat.
It didn't work. We have some great new people working their way up in the Democratic line-up. Yeah, Gary, I got the same email you did. I'll send money eventually, but not for this reason. Lighten up Barack. Its not about the money. Its about the people.
Did you get the 8 appeals from 8 different people today? Is Obama getting desperate for money?
Sorry, got the same email but they asked for $19. I've already replied with another donation and for more than requested. I just can't abide by thoughts of Romney/Ryan leading our country. Martha
Martha,
You like the last 4 years, do you?
The past four years have featured some of the most intelligent and thoughtful governance our nation has had in over a century. Further, we escaped by the skin of our teeth from Great Depression 2.0, and therefore have the luxury of moaning about 8 percent unemployment rather than gnashing our teeth over 30 percent +
Apparently, President Obama has been good for Israel too:
In an interview aired late Monday night on CNN, Barak told political anchor Wolf Blitzer that the Obama administration’s support of Israeli defense and intelligence establishments was far greater than under any other administration he remembered working with since and including President Jimmy Carter.”
That's Barak without a c. As in, Ehud Barak, the defense minister of Israel. I know it was said on Wolf Blitzer, but it was said BY Ehud Barak.
Siarlys,
have you been smoking your socks?
Gary,
I agree with Siarlys and have not been smoking my socks. We need to get a congress elected with people who will not just automatically oppose plans proposed by Dems. We also need to clear out the Dems who are not willing to negotiate. If this disfunctional congress is re-elected we are doomed. Martha
Martha,
You mean get rid of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, maxine Waters, et al, right?
My socks wear holes in them just fine from being in my shoes every day, without setting fire to them.
I don't live in LA-LA land like you do. I live in the heartland, where we can see clearly that President Obama has been doing a good job against considerable odds.
I would be happy to get rid of all three of those you name, but not in favor of the Tea Party goons who have been offered as alternatives. I'd like Gwen Moore to become Speaker of the House. I don't live in Waters's district, but I'm sure there are many intelligent, capable women of African descent who could step up to the plate, and Senator Tester of Montana for majority leader.
Siarlys, When you call the Tea Party Goons, you cannot back it up with facts. They do not engage in violence, they do not get arrested, they don't leave a mess behind you they have a demonstration. I think you must have confused them with the Occupy movement. There you have goons.
I'm using goons in the generic sense, not as armed enforcers, but as individuals who are to reasoned political discourse what a bull is to a China shop.
Sharon Angle, for instance, who single-handedly put the voters of Nevada in the position of having to re-elect Harry Reid.
