The city of Oakland just hasn't been the same since Jack London died and "Run-down" Jerry Brown was mayor. Once again, Oakland takes the lead in the Occupy Movement as a bunch of dead-enders takes to the streets as to "celebrate" the fourth of July (Viewer warning: naughty language).
Jack London and Jerry Brown must be turning in their graves.

No, Findalis, not much of a turnout. The vast majority of left-wing, socialist, pro-union, American citizens have better things to do. This stuff is just to provide an amusing spectacle for you and Gary. Today's anarchists will be leading tomorrow's anti-tax conservative movements.
My colleague's nephew was one of the four Oakland police officers shot to death by a parolee a few years ago. He was a college graduate who chose police work because he believed he could make a change for the better in Oakland's community. He was in his early thirties when his life was taken by a stupid man who could never aspire to do anything more with his life than age in a cage; it's called prison.
Those chanting obscenities towards the police do so because they know the only thing they will ever accomplish in their lifetimes is age in a cage with stupid rage.
Fullerton, your colleague's nephew sounds like exactly the kind of people we need on the police force. You're probably also right about the people chanting obscenities. But don't forget, Eldridge Cleaver ended up as a born-again Christian conservative Republican whose idea of free enterprise was to drive a truck around Berkeley picking up the more valuable recyclables before the regular city crews got to them.
