Occupy Updates: Murder, Suicide, Arrests, and Tuberculosis

"Heigh ho, heigh ho. It's off to jail they go."

Here is a (partial) re-cap of this week's Occupy highlights:

Oakland

One man shot to death as feckless mayor Jean Quan keeps issuing deadlines for the occupiers to disperse, releases white doves, and offers passes to homeless shelters.

I could go on, but what's the use? My nay-sayers will just say these are "isolated incidents".

Meanwhile.........

"God bless them."

"I can empathize with that."

Ditto for the American Revolution, and most tent meeting revivals, among other events.

More "isolated incidents" from the NY Times no less. It is getting so bad in so many areas that it can no longer be ignored, minimized, or mischaracterized. This is the base of the Democratic Party and it is becoming the face of the party.

What "organizers" these days forget is that if you want to keep an army in the field, you have to feed them, house them, perhaps even issue uniforms, establish a chain of command, enforce rigorous sanitary measures... and keep a tight lid on the various forms of "camp followers."

They need to read John Steinbeck's In Dubious Battle. Failing that, perhaps a contingent should go through basic training at Fort Bragg, volunteering for the Quartermaster Corps.
