Tarik Ramadan is the grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al-Banna. Ramadan is one of those who have fooled the West into thinking he is a "moderate Muslim". (He lives in Switzerland.) He apparently has fooled Hillary Clinton's State Department because they recently lifted a ban on him entering the US, subsequent to which, he launched a US speaking tour.
Courtesy of Jihad Watch, here is Ramadan in a recent debate with conservative British writer Douglas Murray in Athens hosted by Intelligence Squared (an NGO) and the British Council in Greece. The debate was over whether a mosque should be built in Athens. In this clip, Murray effectively counters Ramadan's point about banning gyms because someone might break an arm.

One might also point out to Mr Ramadan that pluralism is supposed to work both ways, not just in America and Europe, but in Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, Yemen and other countries where non-Muslims do not enjoy the benefits of "pluralism", however Mr Ramadan defines it.

Of course Hillary Clinton will allow Mr. Ramadan into the U.S.A. After all, Bill got 10% of his library funded by the Saudi government. This is not including donations of donation of a million each, by Saudi businessmen. Maybe Obama wants library funding as well, with his bow to the Saudi King (although Barack has introduced legislation to omit foreign donations to libraries). Also, be reminded that there are members of the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House, such as the ISNA. Last, do not forget Eric Holder's holding off in the investigating CAIR and their participation in the HLF charity scam. But best of all is Obama's statement in his "Audacity of Hope", standing with the Muslims.
Hats off to Douglas Murray who sees it all and calls it like it is, when it comes to Islamists.

There is a modestly funny story about April Fools Day being the official atheist holiday, which Douglas Murray lends some credence to.
Gary is correct that pluralism works both ways, but Tarik Ramadan is not an official of any of the governments whose policies Gary decries. The sovereignty of the United States is sufficient unto itself to analyze whether pluralism works both ways. Do we allow Christian and Jews as well as Muslims to build houses of worship? Yes, we sure do. Nuff said.
Jordan is responsible for the policies of Jordan, Saudi Arabia for the policies of Saudi Arabia, etc. There is no trade-off in the First Amendment that says "we'll let you build here if countries that have your faith as a state religion let us build there." In fact, at the time the First Amendment was ratified, MOST European nations restricted synagogues, mosques, and brutally suppressed anything that smacked of paganism. Therefore, nobody should have been allowed to build Christian churches in America until those policies changed?
