Question: Why in the Hell did we execute Julius and Ethel Rosenberg?
For all you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies majors, that is your homework for tonight; who were Julius and Ethel Rosenberg?
Answer: (Don't peek until tomorrow)
They were a couple of "community organizers" in New York who gave our nuclear bomb formula to the Soviet Union. They were convicted and went to the electric chair.

I'm old enough to remember... I still have a copy of "We Are Your Sons" on my bookshelf. Maybe that spineless David Greenglass got hold of a blueprint for a focusing lens or something... but not the method for separating U-235 from U-238. That takes a skilled physicist to figure out, and unfortunately, Russia has been producing skilled physicists and mathematicians longer than the U.S. has been a nation.
I also remember. The evidence at least against Julius was pretty solid.
