Hat tip RAIR Foundation USA and Counter Jihad Coalition
I am cross-posting an article running on RAIR Foundation USA, which reports that the Orange County, California Board of Supervisors has held an event featuring local Muslim leaders (like CAIR) on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. A proclamation was issued to mark the occasion. I have little to add except the below details, which concern CAIR and Imam Muzammil Siddiqi of the Islamic Center of Orange County in Garden Grove, California. He was one of the Muslim officials attending.
Out here in Orange County, I have heard Muzammil Siddiqi speak on many occasions and have asked him several questions about Islam. He has convinced the powers that be in OC that he is a bridge builder. The OC Board of Supervisors honored him several years ago with a humanitarian "Bridge Builder" award-as several of us protested peacefully outside. Yet, Siddiqi is the imam who hosted Omar Abdel Rahman, the Blind Shiekh, to give a sermon at his Garden Grove mosque in 1992. He also allowed his mosque to be used by the UC Irvine Muslim Student Union to construct their "Apartheid Wall" for use at their annual anti-Israel week at UCI. I personally observed it and confronted him with it in 2017 at an "anti-hate" event at UCI in which he sat on a dais with some prominent OC rabbis.
As for the participation of the Southern California chapter of CAIR, a despicable Muslim Brotherhood-linked, Hamas-supporting organization headed by Hussam Ayloush (who was not present), the Board of Supervisors has shamed itself by inviting this organization. If they wanted to issue a proclamation to the local Muslim community on one of their major religious holidays, that's one thing. What is more troublesome is that the OC BoS chose Siddiqi and CAIR to headline the event.
Obviously, nobody has gotten the message-because they don't want to.
