Those Syrian Refugees

Hat tip Before its News

The below article was translated from the German in Der Spiegel. It concerns a refugee camp for Syrians and draws a cautionary tale as to how we select refugees to come to this country.

Today's Protests in Egypt

Hat tip Breitbart

-Breitbart

Today's protests in Egypt have been truly amazing. It is too soon to be optimistic, but could Egypt actually be saved from becoming the next Iran? Unfortunately, the country still is in danger of becoming the next Syria.

I urge the reader to go to the Muslim Brotherhood's English-language web site, Ikhwanweb (linked on this site) to see how they are in full Morsi/MB defense mode as they attack the protesters in print.

While it is refreshing to see the backlash against the government of Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood, it now once again calls into question Obama's foreign policy. What does Team Obama do now? Do they defend Morsi or grease the skids for him? Keep in mind that his ambassador, Anne Patterson, just days ago urged Egyptians and particularly Coptic Christians, not to engage in the protests. The government needed to become stabilized, argued Patterson, or some such rot.

If Obama continues giving support to this government, then I will conclude beyond much doubt that he does favor an Islamist agenda in the Middle East.

Egypt bears very close watching. So does Obama. I bet he is going to come out of this looking very bad-as if he hasn't already.

The New Wrigley Field

Hat tip Bleed Cubbie Blue

So much for feeling you are back in the 1930s.

As we all know by now, Cubs owner Tom Ricketts is determined to transform Wrigley Field into a combination of the Toronto Blue Jays' Wonderdome or whatever they call it and the Arizona D-backs' rhinestone cattle market in Phoenix. Here are some proposed changes.

This will be the new Cub bullpen. It will be named the Carlos Marmol Memorial Bullpen. It comes with a 5-star restaurant, which will be named, "The Blown Save Cafe". As you can see, it will be well-lit so the Cub relievers can see home plate.

Yes, Cubs Plaza, which will form a grand bridge entrance to the ballpark on Clark Street. It takes its inspiration from Albert Speer's design for a renovated Berlin. (World War II got in the way, however (heh heh).

No ballpark would be complete without a skating rink instead of a parking lot. If you want to catch one of those homers, you better tie on your skates.

A new drawing of the proposed plaza next to Wrigley Field is seen with a farmers market with a six-story office-and-retail building.
Hotel and office building too. The hotel will feature a huge conference room for the visiting teams to celebrate their wins.
Shown here are ideas for the stadium concourse.
The new concourse will be inspired by the South Coast Plaza Mall in Orange County. In fact, shortstop Starlin Castro will have his own barbecue joint here featuring everybody's favorite, the E-5 Dog. He'll be available outside the store to sign autographs between pitches in the top half of every inning.

That still leaves one problem as the above picture clearly shows. Even with that humongous scoreboard in left field, those pesky roof top owners can still see into the field, so here is what the Cubs have decided to do:

(Scroll down)

"Takbir!!"

First of all, we construct a mega-mosque on Waveland Avenue for Sunnis. Then we construct a mega-mosque on Sheffield for Shia. Those so-uncomfortable bleachers and outdated scoreboard plus the new scoreboard have to go (sorry Jesse Jackson and sons).  Who wants to know the score anyway? Now those roof-top owners will be out of business because nobody will be able to see past the mosques. In fact, there will be no rooftops because the buildings will be torn down to make way for the mosques. In addition, it will instill a new spirit of victory for the team and bring in new fans.

"And now, please direct your attention to the left field minaret and join Anjem Choudary as he sings, 'Take me out to the ballgame.'"

And as for that Clark Street bridgeway, well, we've changed our minds about that. As you can see, we have moved it in the center where the old scoreboard was so it connects the two mosques. Why?

That's for the two competing armies.

And if this doesn't work? We'll just put a dome over the whole thing and forget about it.

"Welcome to the Friendly Confines"

I wonder what Harry Carey would say.

"Holy Sh**!".

Friend --

Tomorrow's fundraising deadline is absolutely huge.

I was looking at our records associated with this exact email address -- and it looks like you haven't chipped in yet.
(That's right.)

-- Organizing for Action member: No
    -- Suggested donation today: $5

Take a minute to go on the record with your support -- make a donation of $5 or more today.

We've seen what grassroots organizing is capable of over the last couple of days.

(Yeah. I know what dez people of capable of doin', alright.)

President Obama came forward with a bold plan to combat climate change. One woman stood in the way of an extreme anti-woman bill in Texas. The Senate passed comprehensive immigration reform. And we saw a sea change in the fight for marriage equality.

All of these victories have one thing in common: People fighting for what they believe in.

The fights we all care about are going on right now.

"Invest" in this work before tomorrow's deadline -- chip in $5 or more today:https://donate.barackobama.com/Sunday-Deadline

Thanks,

Kathy

More "Awards" for Hillary

Hat tip Frontpage Magazine

American Evita

Has Hillary Clinton no shame? Notwithstanding the Benghazi fiasco, which capped off an otherwise unproductive stint as secretary of State, Hillary has the chutzpah to go to Beverly Hills and accept a "public service" award from her admirers as she gears up for her 2016 presidential run.

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2013/05/08/hillary-clinton-accepts-public-service-award-in-beverly-hills/

This ranks up there with Al Gore's Nobel Prize and Oscar as well as Barack Obama's Nobel Prize. Of course, the ceremony takes place in La-La land, which already has more Oscars, Golden Globes, People's Choice, Emmies, and who knows what as the elite of Hollywood pile award upon award upon each other.

And that's not all. In September, Hillary will be receiving something called "The Liberty Medal".

http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/hillary-clinton-to-receive-liberty-medal-for-spreading-islamist-tyranny/

As the 67th Secretary of State, Clinton broke national and global barriers. She was the first First Lady to serve in a presidential Cabinet. She traveled to more countries than any other Secretary of State. She used social media to engage citizens in the workings of diplomacy, and she paid an official visit to Burma, making her the highest U.S. representative to do so in half a century.

"Ah wunnerful ah wunnerful ah"

Ms Clinton should be embarrassed. But that is not in her make-up.

Islamophobia Conference in Paris: Call for Papers

Our friend, Professor Hatem Bazian of UC Berkeley and the founder of something called the Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project at UCB, is organizing a big world conference on Islamophobia in Paris of all places.

http://www.hatembazian.com/islamophobia-conference.html

Wow.

"In Western Europe, Islamophobia is on the rise. France is among the countries where Islamophobia acquires complex and multi-layered dimensions."

Do you think it might have something to do with the crime, the rampant anti-Semitism, the refusal to assimilate, the rejection of European values, the killings, the riots, or the radical Islamism that calls for a Islamic takeover of Europe under sharia law?

Might it have something to do with the murders at a Jewish school in Toulouse?

Or the recent murder of a British soldier in London named Lee Rigby?

Or about the rash of "sexual grooming' of young British girls by Muslims, who drug them and pass them around for rape and sex for the pleasure of their friends?

Or the riots and assaults upon Jews in Malmö and other European cities?

Or the sight of Muslims taking over entire Paris streets to hold their Friday prayers with no regard to the residents and businesses?

Or the recent week-long riots in Stockholm (Husby)?

Or the obscene Muslim demonstrations in the UK led by hate monger Anjem Choudary?

Or the calls for violent jihad from imams in Western mosques?

Or about the sheer hate, savagery and murders spreading across the Middle East and other Islamic nations?

Or the graphic videos of beheadings, which continue unabated?

How about the fact that in virtually every Muslim majority nation, religious minorities are persecuted?

I could go on and on, but it is obvious that Bazian's "call for papers" should include the above issues. Of course, it won't.

This guy Bazian is peddling pure snake oil. He and his Islamist ilk should look in the mirror and clean up their own back yard. Decent Muslims are not well served by the likes of Bazian and his "Islamophobia" events.
