Carolyn B Glick, who writes for the Jerusalem Post, is a great columnist in my view. She understands what is at stake in Israel, and she knows who Israel's friends are and who are not. In this piece, she lauds Glenn Beck's recent trip to Israel to show American support. This article was recommnded to me by Peter Lancz, who is involved in efforts to bring a statue of Raoul Wallenberg to the UC-Irvine campus. (To find out more about this project, you can click Peter's site under "Worthy of our support".)

Kudos to Beck for his trip to Israel. He truly understands the importance of our relationship with Israel-the only democracy in the Middle East.
A private citizen makes a trip to Israel. This is lauded as "American support," as if he represents some 300 million diverse opinions. It must be true, because an opinion piece by an Israeli journalist says so. Even better, an American blogger recommends the opinion piece about the private citizen visiting Israel.

Maybe you prefer Hamas down in Gaza.
ReplyDeleteGlenn Beck is visiting Gaza?
ReplyDelete(I'm trying to stay on topic. Are you?)
No, I don't think beck would stay alive one hour in Gaza.
ReplyDeleteSure he would. He's capable of saying anything if you give him a few moments to catch on to what the current party line is.
ReplyDeleteBeck was great. Carolyn Glick's article was terrific as well. Unfortunately, the Left is the same around the world and there is a left / anti- Israel nexus.
ReplyDeleteMiggie like Beck.
ReplyDeleteMiggie likes Glick.
Miggie has amnesia about the year 1948.
Miggie reminds me of Janice Joplin offering to sing a song of great social and political importance.
