With the latest release of official emails that Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin sent to her husband, disgraced former congressman Anthony Wiener, many are calling for DOJ investigations into this clear breach of security. President Trump has joined the chorus, going on Twitter to call for Abedin to be jailed.

While I agree with the sentiment, President Trump is wrong to be weighing in on this in such a public manner. The president of the US is technically, the chief law enforcement officer of the land. The attorney general reports to the president. It is simply improper for the president-any president- to be making public statements of this manner.
When the Manson family was on trial in Los Angles for the Tate-LaBianca murders, then President Nixon was quoted as saying that they were "obviously guilty", Manson came to court the next day with the newspaper headline and showed it for the world to see.
If Abebin is ever prosecuted, you can bet that her attorney will make an issue of this in court arguing that she cannot get a fair trial.
As president, the attorney general and the heads of the federal law enforcement agencies should be instructed to do their job, follow the facts, and be guided by the principle that everybody is equal before the law. It is improper for a president to tell the AG that anybody must be prosecuted-or not prosecuted.
It is one thing for a person such as I in my humble little blog to voice the opinion that someone has committed crimes. I have done so with Hillary Clinton and her gang many many times being guided by libel laws. Clinton and Abedin are public figures, so I have a wide latitude in making statements as long as they are not deliberate lies on my part with a reckless disregard for the truth and malicious intent to injure. With private persons, I have to be much more careful in my criticism.
But I am not the president. President Trump would be wise to knock this kind of stuff off.
