Texas Imam's Lame Apology
A Texas imam who quoted Islamic scripture in calling for the deaths of Jews has issued an apology. Imam Raed Saleh Al-Rousan states that what he said does not represent who he is. He claims it was made in the heat of President Trump's decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem.

Sorry, but this is nothing more than an effort to control damage. What this imam said, he meant. And he knew exactly what he was saying.
He wasn't making this up. That quote is from the hadith, the reported sayings of the Prophet Mohammad. The quote is affirmed as reliable by the leading schools of Islamic thought and is quoted by far too many Islamic clerics.
Secondly, this quote is directed not at Israel, but at Jews, just as it was 1400 years ago. Mohammad directed it to Jews in the Arabian peninsula, present-day Saudi Arabia, where he lived.
Whether one agrees with Trump's decision, it is instructive at how this has brought the Islamic Jew-haters out of the woodwork. From demonstrations by Muslims in places like Sweden to mosques in the US and Canada, people are calling for the killing of Jews and using this quote from Islamic texts to justify it.
