Dartmouth Enforces Puar's No Taping Rule

Rutgers University Professor Jasbir Puar made news recently when she went on an anti-Semitic tirade during a speech she made at Vassar College. Since then she has repeatedly shown an aversion to having her speeches videotaped. Thus, when she spoke at Dartmouth this week, the school enforced her no taping rule.

I really wish somebody would bring this garbage to UC Irvine to speak. I guarantee you she will be videotaped. UCI is a public institution and California law permits videotaping at public events as long as it does not interfere or disrupt.

I also note that the UNC professor mentioned in the link, Neel Ahuja, has darkened our pages twice before.

  1. And they call themselves "Ivy League". I am sure that Gary would do some serious pruning if he was present at that venue.

  2. I believe Dartmouth is a private institution, which may allow them to make the call, but if Puar were speaking at UCI, I would be there in the first row with my camera. Let her call the campus police or university officials.

Of course, she could do with Rabab Abdulhadi of SFSU apparently did and back out at the last minute.
