Arrogance on Parade at UC Davis

Hat tip Pro-Israel Bay Bloggers

The young UC Davis student senator who is front and center in the divestment issue on her campus has posted a letter in the campus newspaper that drips with arrogance. Naturally, she presents herself as a victim.

I will not accuse this young lady of being a Jew-hater because I don't know her. Nor will I accuse her of involvement in the two swastikas that showed up on a Jewish frat house after the divestment vote. What she sadly fails to recognize is how she has contributed to the toxic atmosphere at UC Davis.

By now, that short video clip of a room full of Palestinian supporters chanting, "Takbir-Allahu Akbar" as Jewish students left the hall where the vote was about to take place has gone viral. It is an embarrassment to the entire campus as well as to the UCD administration. Yet this young lady claims that the Facebook picture she posted was taken out of context even though the picture came from a screen shot.

As I have pointed out before, the Muslim Student Union at UC Irvine (where I teach part-time) makes it a ritual now to make a verbal disclaimer before they present speakers like Amir Abfel Malik Ali that they are not anti-Jewish in any way. Then they turn the mic over to Ali who makes his litany of anti-Jewish screeds. Yet on two occasions when I have brought up the inconvenient fact of pro-Palestinian crowds in the US chanting anti-Jewish slogans like "Jews to the gas" and "Long Live Hitler", I have been insulted by the speaker (George Galloway-Norman Finkelstein)  as a roomful of hundreds of pro-Palestinian supporters roared their approval.

But of course, they are not anti-Jewish. Nobody is.

  1. Once again, the poor pathetic ignoramuses don't know enough history to realize that without Hitler and Auschwitz, there would be no Israel. Most European Jews were perfectly content to live in Europe until the "Final Solution" emerged. Zionism had been a handful of socialist agricultural communes, scattered across some of the worst land in Palestine.
