A Response to the Carnage in Jerusalem

David Horovitz, editor of the Times of Israel, has written a piece that I think merits being disseminated as far as possible.

This attack goes beyond the deaths of 5 innocent people at the hands of two Palestinian savages who stormed into a synagogue shouting, "Allahu Akbar".  As part of the educational process for people here in the West who badly need educating, it shows us the outrageous reporting by news outlets like CNN, who erroneously called it an attack on a mosque and used headlines like "Israel police kill two Palestinians" to describe what happened. It shows us the usual pusillanimous reactions of John Kerry and Barack Obama who talk about the loss of Palestinian lives in the same breath as Israeli lives. With all due respect to Palestinians who died in the recent Gaza fighting, this was not the time. In addition, it seems lost on Kerry and Obama that three of the victims were American citizens. Where is the outrage that our own people are being murdered by Palestinians?

It also shows us the reaction of the Palestinians on the street as they celebrated the heinous act in their usual fashion. Now we even have Palestinian "composers" writing hit songs celebrating the recent spate of vehicle homicides.

In addition, this all  calls into question why we are paying millions of dollars to the Palestinian Authority, whose president, Mahmoud Abbas, has incited acts like these with his hateful rhetoric? What in the world do we owe the Palestinians? All we are doing is paying bribe money (Baksheesh, if you will) in a vain effort to convince them to make peace with Israel and allow the Jewish state to live in peace and security in a sea of Arab states.

What we are witnessing is the start of the latest intifada. More Israelis will be killed, and Israel will be blamed by the world when they act in self defense. Of course, when the next round of fighting breaks out, Europe's streets will erupt in riots by Arabs, and Jewish synagogues and shops will be attacked while here in the US, our campuses will be subjected to more protests by Muslim students who will invite anti-Semitic speakers like Amir Abdel Malik Ali, and Mohammed al Asi. The scenes of carnage that we have witnessed this week will be forgotten as we are harangued about the "suffering" of the noble Palestinian people. No doubt we will hear about the "outrage" of Jews trying to pray at the Temple Mount, their holiest site (which even Israel prohibits them from doing) because it offends the Muslims who call their mosque, which was built above it, one of their holiest sites.  And why is that? It is because their own holy texts mention "the Furthest Mosque" as referring to Jerusalem. This is where Mohammed reportedly flew to on a winged horse and from there ascended into heaven to meet with the angels.  Based on that. Muslims consider Jerusalem as their third holiest city after Mecca and Medina. Based on that reasoning, we can soon expect to hear that Paris is considered a holy city by Muslims since they now make up between 10-15% of the French population. Can Dearborn, Michigan be far behind?

But I digress.

It is time for Western governments to come to terms with who the good guys are and who the bad guys are in the Middle East. As for our country, I look forward to the day when a sensible US administration tells the Palestinians they are on their own, and that if this is the way they want to further their agenda, we are going to stand with our Israeli allies. There is no moral equivalency here.
