Will Baghdad Fall? Who Will Save Kobani?
"Take it, Matt."
"No, you take it."
The Turks stand at their border and watch the battle through their binoculars. Actually, they probably don't need binoculars. The US wants the Turks to save Kobani. The Turks don't care because Kobani is a Kurdish town. The Kurds are begging for weapons, which the US gives to the Iraqi Security Forces, which in turn, doesn't give them to the Kurds. Everyone is looking at each other. Meanwhile, even Baghdad is under siege by ISIS.

But there is good news according to Deputy State Department spokesperson Marie Harf (who apparently has found the missing reports of Iraqi successes from Jen Psaki's briefing book).
Marie Harf
"State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf expressed rare confidence in Iraq's military on Friday, saying it is capable of defending Baghdad.
"We don't see an imminent threat to Baghdad at this time," Harf said. "Iraqi security forces in and around Baghdad are strong. They're under constant assessment. The embassy remains open. We continue to conduct business. We've deployed a significant number of our own military personnel to Iraq and to the region for the protection of American personnel and to advise and assist Iraqi forces.”
Where have we heard this before?
"Good news, mein Fuehrer. Marie Harf says that General Steiner is coming to save Berlin."
