Select Committee on Benghazi: Welcome News

It was long overdue, but better late than never. House Speaker John Boehner has (finally) announced there will be a select committee in the House to investigate Benghazi.

Unfortunately, we can't see the same in the Senate because that is controlled by the Democrats. Harry Reid demonstrated their attitude, both in the above-linked quote and this one:

The Koch brothers. Indeed.

I fervently hope that Trey Gowdy will be selected to be on this committee. Not only is he a former prosecutor, but he is dedicated to getting to the bottom of this mess. It would be a great mistake not to select him.

This past week, retired brigadier general (Air Force) Robert Lovell testified before the House committee on government oversight and reform. At the time of the Benghazi attack, he was serving with the US Africa Command. His testimony was impressive and compelling. he refuted every administration claim that it had been a protest gone out of control over a video. The State Department was singled out for criticism over its dithering and delay while the attack was in progress. he lamented the fact that military forces were not sent to Benghazi. Then it was the ranking member, Elijah Cummings (D-MD), who has tried his hardest to cover up the wrongdoings of this administration, who again tried to provide cover. He asked the general about two units that had indeed been mobilized and sent to Libya during the hours of the attack, which the general conceded. However, under follow-up questioning by one of the Republicans, it was revealed that these units had been sent to Tripoli to secure the embassy instead of Benghazi to join in the fighting-and that one, a Marine unit, had been ordered to change from their uniforms into civilian clothes before landing in Tripoli!

Who else but the State Department would have made such a decision? At least someone at State made a  decision during that tragic evening.

Our next president. "A proven leader for 2016. Battle-tested."

It is sickening to see the obstructions and excuses put out by this administration and their supporters in the Democratic Congress. We have four dead Americans and none of them care a whit.

How many Americans have the Koch brothers killed, Senator Reid?

Probably quite a few, and they'd kill many more if allowed to gut the pathetically weak occupational safety and health regulations we have, not to mention emulating the air quality currently prevalent in Beijing for Americans to breath, spewing mercury into our waters (which may have something to do with the increasing prevalence - if any - of homosexuality), etc. And denying global warming probably contributes to those deadly tornadoes we've all been reading about. Half a mile wide at the bottom of the funnel? It was considered unusually fierce in 1974 when Xenia was hit by a tornado a quarter mile wide. They used to be mostly a hundred yards or so at ground level.

  2. Siarlys,

This is a spoof, right? I mean you're not really serious, are you?

  3. I'm serious Gary. "There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life." That's above Harry Reid's pay grade, but its the real issue here. The Koch brothers are playing a very old, stale, game with a hollow line of propaganda that pre-dates the rapacious John D. Rockefeller. Oh, and to update the scenario, check out this bumper sticker: "Pray for me. I work at Kennedy Valve." No, I don't have information the Koch Brothers own that company. Just an example of how plutocrats can kill with clean hands. You're a useful idiot from their point of view, and having worked for a living all your life, albeit on the government payroll, you should know better.
