Yusuf al Qaradawi on Dogs

Hat tip Examiner

"43% of people in Iceland have tapeworms from dogs"

I preface this piece by saying that we have Muslim neighbors who have a pet dog. I point that out because the intent of this piece is not to poke fun at the fact that many Muslims have a negative perception of dogs as being "unclean", rather to poke fun at Yusuf al Qaradawi, a leading Muslim scholar in the Middle East who happens to the the top spiritual adviser to the Muslim Brotherhood and a person whom I consider to be a hate-filled quack. This is a guy who has called the Holocaust "God's punishment for Jews" and expressed his desire to die fighting in battle against the Infidels. He is an Egyptian who was forced into exile in Qatar prior to the coming to power of Mohammed Morsi. Presumably, he is back in Qatar.

In this article, Qaradawi gives advice to a questioner asking about if science supports sharia in that people should not keep dogs as pets. Qaradawi quotes the prominent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Yusuf al Qaradawi (himself), and says among other things that as many as 43% of people in Iceland have tapeworms contracted from dogs. He apparently quotes some scientist from 1898 who was actually referring to 1/3 of  sheep in Iceland. He also quotes some German scientist who apparently does not exist.

See what I mean? This guy is a nut job. A very dangerous nut job.
