LA Sheriff Endorsing Products??
LA County Sheriff to the Stars Lee "Footballhead" Baca apparently has found more use of his idle time when he is not making the rounds of events promoting sharia law. He is endorsing products.

Why Lois Lerner Took the 5th
Hat tip Daily Caller
"The watchdog explained that the FIOA request also uncovered “extensive materials from the IRS’ files sent from Lerner to the FEC containing detailed, confidential information about the organizations.”
If you were wondering why IRS official Lois Lerner took the 5th when she appeared before Congress, this might help clear things up. According to e-mails obtained under a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, she was passing confidential tax-payer information to the Federal Elections Commission.

For the benefit of you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies and History of Consciousness majors, that's illegal.
The next step is to see if the Department of Justice will indict her.

Benghazi: The Cover up Continues

The CGI Federal Memo
Hat tip Patriot's Corner and the Last Refuge
If Kathleen Sibelius wants to blame the contractors for the website fiasco, what about this?
http://callofthepatriot.blogspot.com/2013/10/obamacare-disaster-warned-about-in.html
It seems CGI Federal warned the administration in its monthly progress report on September 6 that there were significant problems with the website.
Does that conflict with Marilyn Tavenner's testimony this week?
"On Capitol Hill on Monday, Medicaid Chief Marilyn Tavenner, whose job it was to oversee the October 1 rollout of the website, said she did not foresee its problems.
“No, we had tested the website and we were comfortable with its performance,” she said. “Now, like I said, we knew all along there would be as with any new website, some individual glitches we would have to work out. But, the volume issue and the creation of account issues was not anticipated and obviously took us by surprise. And did not show up in testing.”

Janet Napolitano at UC Irvine (Update)
Hat tip OC Weekly
It appears there was a bit more action Monday on the UC Irvine campus than I thought when Janet Napolitano came to hold secret meetings (The locations were supposed to be secret). It seems some of the little rascals caught up with her at Bren Hall and were blocked from entering by campus cops.

Yes, it's going to be an interesting tenure for Big Sis.

Sibelius Falls on Her Sword-Sort of
It looks like from the preliminary report below that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibelius is falling on her sword and protecting the president. As with all the previous scandals in this administration, the party line is "The president was not informed."
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/30/sebelius-to-face-grilling-at-hearing-on-glitch-ridden-obamacare-website-rollout/
Does anybody ever tell Obama anything? Nobody told him about Fast and Furious. Nobody told him that the attack in Benghazi was by al Qaeda. Nobody told him about the IRS scandal. Nobody told him about the NSA bugging Angela Merkel. One wonders what his daily briefings consist of-the ball scores?
And I don't see anywhere where Sibelius is submitting her resignation.
Where is the accountability in this administration?

Brown University Lives up to its Name
Even before Adolf Hitler took power in Germany, the University of Erlangen became known as 'the brown university" when it became the first in Germany whose student government was dominated by Nazis. Of course, we have a Brown University in the US with capital letters. It is located in Rhode Island. When New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly came to speak at Brown Tuesday, the reaction was one you would see at a brown university.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/30/nypd-kelly-heckled-off-stage-at-brown-university-over-stop-and-frisk-policy/?intcmp=latestnews
So the question now is how will the university discipline the hecklers who took away Kelly's right of free speech and the right of the audience to hear what he had to say. The article does not indicate any arrests or removal from the hall. Why not? When students disrupted the speech of the Israeli ambassador to the US at UC Irvine in 2010, they were removed from the hall, arrested, charged, prosecuted and convicted. That seem appropriate in this case as well.

Breaking News From Yahoo Sports: Patriots Acquire NT Sopoaga from Patriots
Patriots acquire NT Sopoaga from Patriots

Our New University of California President
A thought has occurred to me this week with the silly uproar over Janet Napolitano's visit to UC Irvine, where meetings were held in secret locations.
Is this any way to run a university?
Not that I sympathize with the student protesters. I don't because I think they are protesting Napolitano's appointment as UC president for the wrong reasons. They are upset because the new UC president was head of the Department of Homeland Security, which-horrors- deported people who were in the country illegally.
I think Napolitano is a horrible choice because she was a feckless DHS head who failed to protect our borders and was ineffective in her approach to terror. I have gone into considerable detail on this site about her performance-or lack thereof in Operation Fast and Furious and other issues. To be blunt, she was incompetent and would not even address the main threat facing this country-Islamic terrorism. Add that to the fact that she has no experience in the field of education, and her selection is puzzling.
So now we have a UC president who has to sneak around UC campuses in secret because the students and various campus workers want to protest her at every opportunity. She has tried to reach out to students and said she wants to provide higher education to all students-documented or undocumented. It seems clear that she will bend over backwards to accommodate the squeaky wheels on our campuses. After all, when it is all said and done, she thinks as they do.

Obama Official to Congress: We Can't Tell You How Many We Have Signed Up
That's what Marilyn Tavenner, director of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services told Congress today in essense.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/29/health-agency-chief-apologizes-for-healthcaregov-failures/
Translation of all that? They have the numbers, but they won't release then till mid-November. Can't even tell Congress. It's a secret.
Could that be because they are waiting to get more numbers of people enrolled that will hopefully outnumber those losing their health care coverage?
Transparency? The most transparent administration in history?

Alternative Oktoberfest in Munich
Hat tip Gates of Vienna
Oktoberfest isn't the only thing going on in Munich this month. Courtesy of Gates of Vienna, we have a video (with English sub-titles) of Freiheit speaker Michael Stuerzenberger speaking at a rally trying to gather signatures for a petition to stop the building of a mega-Islamic center in the center of Munich. As you can see, a cordon of police is necessary to protect Stuerzenberger from a hostile crowd. There is also a link to a previous demonstration where Stuerzenberger was physically attacked.

Whatever Happened to, "If You Like Your Plan, You Can Keep It"?
"No matter how we reform healthcare, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your healthcare plan, you'll be able to keep your healthcare plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what."
-President Obama, June 2009
That was the promise President Obama unequivocally made to all of us. It appears it was a lie. Now, as people are losing their health insurance, White House spokesman Jay Carney is, as usual, struggling for an explanation.
http://www.newsmax.com/newswidget/obama-millions-lost-health/2013/10/28/id/533516?promo_code=125BD-1&utm_source=125BDTelegraph_Media_Group&utm_medium=nmwidget&utm_campaign=widgetphase1
"So it's true there are existing healthcare plans on the individual market that do not meet those minimum standards and therefore do not qualify for the Affordable Care Act,"
-Jay Carney
Well, at least Jay didn't say that Obama's previous statement was "inoperative" (old Watergate joke).
Here is the lie: The IRS was saying as early as 2010 that millions of people would lose their current health care insurance.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/29/white-house-knew-as-early-as-2010-millions-would-lose-health-plans-under/
Yet, on June 28, 2012, Obama spoke on television from the White House and repeated his promise that those who liked their insurance would keep it. Here is a quasi-sympathetic article from Politifact (Tampa Bay Times) at the time. The important point is what Obama said after the Supreme Court ruling.
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/jun/29/barack-obama/barack-obama-says-under-his-health-care-law-those-/
To those of you who voted for Obama in spite of all the red flags and those of you who have defended Obamacare in spite of all the warnings, I have to say: If you have been hurt by Obamacare, I find it hard to have any sympathy. We warned you this would happen.
But there is hope for you yet. I am predicting that this whole mess will collapse under its own weight. Even some Democrats in Congress-those who are not driven ideologues- are beginning to understand what a disaster this is.
"It's OK! C'mon back on board."

Big Sis at UC Irvine
Today, Janet Napolitano is visiting UC Irvine and meeting with select groups of professors-at secret locations. As previously described, each lucky professor is getting an email 60-90 minutes before his or her scheduled meeting saying at which secret bunker the meeting will be held.
Today at 11:30, a dozen or so students braved the elements (temperature was in the 60s with a light drizzle) to hand out wanted flyers for Napolitano and try to discover her secret whereabouts. They proceeded to the administration building and posted the above flyers on the glass doors (which were locked by campus cops.)
Big fizzle.
Update: Apparently, Napolitano was at the Computer Science building around noon and some students were demonstrating with police presence.

Canada Trying to Confront "Honor Killings"
Hat tip Investigative Project on Terrorism and Act for America
The Canadian Government earmarked funds in 2007 to combat the phenomenon of "honor killings" within certain immigrant groups. It seems the effort has sparked opposition from some who see it as "racist". The below article highlights one activist woman who is actually majoring in Islamophobia at some university.
http://www.investigativeproject.org/4183/canadian-muslims-protest-honor-killing-label-as
As I see it, the opposition argument is that "honor-killings" are no different from other forms of domestic violence which plague all communities across the ethnic spectrum. Certainly, there are men in all communities who beat their wives or children for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with any specific culture or religion. We and the Canadians have laws to address that. There is a legitimate question, however, when such violence has cultural or religious connotations to it. If so, society has a right to address it. We cannot simply write off a segement of our population as being on their own because they belong to a particular group.

J Street, the ADL and MPAC
Hat tip JJ for the article from JPost and Jihad Watch
In the below article by the Jerusalem Post, the Anti-Defamation League has listed the ten top anti-Israel organizations. Among the groups listed is the US-based Muslim Public Affairs Council.
http://www.jpost.com/LandedPages/PrintArticle.aspx?id=329328
Well, J Street, which calls itself a pro-Israel Jewish organization (It is anything but that.) is reacting negatively to the article and attacking the ADL for including MPAC, as seen in this post below from Jihad Watch.
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/10/hard-left-j-street-and-new-israel-fund-rebuke-adl-for-including-islamic-supremacist-mpac-among-its-t.html
I have written before on groups like Neturei Karta, Students for Justice in Palestine, and Jewish Voice for Peace, who openly side with those trying to destroy Israel. I consider them to be unsavory and radical organizations. In addition, J Street is anything but pro-Israel.
On the other hand, I am no fan of the Anti-Defamation League and its leader, Abe Foxman. In the on-going problems at UC Irvine involving the annual Muslim Student Union weeks of Israel-bashing that have occasionally crossed the line into anti-Semitism with certain speakers (Amir Abdel Malik Ali, Mohammed al Asi etc), the ADL has been missing in action. To be sure, their former director for Orange County would come and listen to the vitriol, but he never spoke out during the Q and A and challenged the speakers as I do every year. When did the ADL ever complain to the university about this? Abe Foxman spoke just a few years ago to a Jewish group in Newport Beach and told a questioner (whom I know) that there was no problem of anti-Semitism at UCI and that the administration and Jewish students had it under control.
Nonsense.
While I would defend ADL in this matter, I agree with charges that they have been unwilling to speak out on anti-Semitism when it comes from Muslim quarters. In my view, in the current era, that represents the biggest portion.

The Merkel Bugging: Obama Knew-Obama Lied
Anyway, that's what the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag is saying, quoting what it calls an anonymous, but high-ranking NSA official. It means that, if true, Obama knew that the NSA was tapping German chancellor Angela Merkel's phone, ordered it continued, and then lied about it-both to her and the public.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/27/obama-knew-nsa-spying-on-merkel-and-approved-it-report-says-944692234/
"The account could mean difficulties for the White House, given another report claiming Obama told Merkel during a telephone conversation last Wednesday he was not aware of the NSA’s spying."
Of course, we have already heard the lame answers of Obama and his mouthpiece Jay Carney that they "were reviewing their intelligence-gathering policies", "would get to the bottom of it" (whatever the scandal might be) and "ensure it never happens again", blah blah blah.
".....those responsible must be held accountable."
Yeah. Good luck with that.
I'll bet Carney is not looking forward to coming to work tomorrow.
Stay tuned.

World Series: Who's on Third?
"Who's on third?"
"I dunno, but I think we just won."
Let me preface my description of last night's slapstick ending to Game 3 of the World Series in St Louis by going back to the World Series of 1974. Game One was about to begin when, all of a sudden, a message came across the screen that the broadcast was being interrupted. President Ford was giving a speech before the Future Farmers of America in Kansas City.
"Ah wunnerful, ah wunnerful, ah."
Yes. Instead of watching the first pitch, we were now watching President Ford standing in front of a group of bored-looking young men as he gave a speech in support of his "Whip Inflation Now" program.
As I and millions of other Americans screamed at the TV set, Ford droned on about getting a letter from Myrtle Mayberry in Bullsnuts, Iowa about how much money she was saving on her electric bill by turning the lights off.
"And one more thing," Ford said. "Clean your plates."
It was about the fourth inning when we were returned to regularly scheduled programming.
Fast forward to last night in St Louis. I was lying on my living room couch as the game went into the 9th inning tied at 4-4. Being a Cub fan, I don't really care who wins, I just wanted to see a great series, right? So it's the bottom of the 9th, the Cardinals are batting with a runner on first with one out and a pitching change is being made. All of a sudden, the screen flashes that in 60 seconds, some show called "Cute Cats" or something like that is coming on.
My wife had programmed another show into the TV and the clock was ticking down to "Cute Cats' coming on. Sure enough, the next thing I knew I was watching the cutest little kittens rolling around on someone's living room floor.
Since there was a pitching change in progress, I didn't panic, but said, "Hey Honey. Fix this will you?" (I had no idea had to do it.) Well, it took her a good five minutes to accomplish the task. Finally, the screen switched back to St Louis, just as some runner was sliding into home and the announcers, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver, were screaming and all bedlam was breaking loose.
What the Hell had happened? I had caught the final moment of one of the most bizarre game endings in World Series history, and had to be content to watch it all on replays.
"Ah wunnerful, ah wunnerful, ah."
I can see this all now. Ten years from now, I will be laying on my deathbed, and the Cubs will be one out from winning their first World Series since 1908....
"Cute Cats".

Janet Napolitano: Scavenger Hunt Coming to UC Irvine Monday
The above is a poster at UC Irvine, a picture of which I took today. As previously reported, Janet Napolitano is coming to UC Irvine Monday to meet with select groups of teachers. However, since they are anticipating protests from campus service worker union types and supporting students who apparently think Napolitano did an effective job of combating illegal immigration etc. the meetings will be secret. Sixty-ninety minutes before the scheduled meetings, the lucky teachers will get an e-mail informing them of the secret location where the meeting will be held.
So now it appears some enterprising students are organizing a scavenger hunt for Monday in an effort to track down and find the elusive Ms Napolitano. The above poster says it all.
(I swear I have nothing to do with this.)
Oliver Stone at UC Irvine
On October 26, motion picture producer Oliver Stone appeared at UC Irvine along with Professor Peter Kuznick of American University to promote their movie and book entitled, "The Untold History of the United States". The event was sponsored by the UCI Dept of Film and Media Studies and the UCI Humanities Collective. The event was attended by some 100 people
After a couple of introductory remarks by UCI officials, Mr Kuznick introduced the film. (Stone had not arrived yet.) The film, narrated by Stone, lasted about an hour and basically was devoted to attacking the foreign policy of the United States. I say basically because it was a rambling film beginning with sinister images of George W Bush and Dick Cheney in the aftermath of 9-11. The idea was that Bush and Cheney used 9-11 to promote their vision of attacking several Middle Eastern countries. The film ridiculed the idea that the administration had chosen hundreds of US locales and events as possible terrorist targets like the Indianapolis 500, petting zoos, amusement parks etc. Some in the audience laughed derisively.
(No mention was made of the Boston Marathon. Apparently, Bush and Cheney overlooked that one.)
The film moved on to cover all the controversial aspects of the resultant war on terror; the Patriot Act, the invasion of Afghanistan ("even though no Afghans were among the 9-11 hijackers", completely ignoring the fact that Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda were based in that country), the Iraq war, Abu Ghraib, water-boarding, and on and on. References were made back to Vietnam to drive home the point that America is an imperialistic country- a description that was made several times during the Q and A. There were scenes of Americans torturing foreign prisoners, but the scenes came from previous motion pictures involving actors. There were also actual Abu Ghraib photographs, more graphic than previously seen by the public in that they showed full frontal nudity of the prisoners.
I also noted that Stone's skill in film making also includes the appropriate use of low volume background music. Whenever Bush and Cheney were pictured, the music was sinister in nature, but when the election of Obama was portrayed, the first images of Obama were accompanied by uplifting 4th of July-type music.
Not to say that Obama didn't come in for criticism, but the main theme seemed that Obama continued the Bush policies so as not to be perceived as weak on defense. His campaign funding was also criticized. During the Q and A, Stone described Obama as a reasonable man, but he was concerned about how a hard-line successor like Bush or Cheney might abuse his powers (paraphrasing).
There was also much use of the National Anthem being played in the background (very low in volume) in slow motion, sad tones so as to reinforce the impression that America has lost her way and is betraying her ideals..
There were also at least three references to "neo-cons" in the movie. There was the requisite condemnation of Wall Street, the banks and the bank bailouts, as well as a reference (with sinister music) to the "infamous" Koch Bothers. (No mention of George Soros) and the Tea Party (no mention of Occupy)
I reiterate here that the movie was rambling in case you think this posting is rambling. In discussing Southeast Asia, there was a reference made to a statement by Alfred W. McCoy, who was the author of ,"The Politics of Heroin in Southeast Asia", a book written in 1972 that charged the CIA as being complicit in heroin trafficking in the Golden Triangle area of Burma, Thailand and Laos, as well as Vietnam through their support of corrupt anti-Communist officials and armies, who in turn had their hands in the drug traffic. There was a shot of the book cover, with a sub-title that said something like, "How the CIA was involved in the Drug Trade". I am paraphrasing. One or two words may be off, but that was the message conveyed. Being an old DEA agent who served in Thailand a few years after the book came out, I have read the book and still have a copy on my book shelf. There is no such sub-title on the cover. True, there is much criticism in the book of the US -and the CIA-supporting corrupt people in the aforementioned countries because they were anti-Communist.
The most ridiculous shot of the movie was a shot of ex- playboy LA mayor Antonio Villaraigosa giving a speech and decrying the money spent on the military as opposed to education or some other social program.
I mean, quoting Antonio Villaraigosa??!!
The most offensive line was a statement by Stone in the narration that described "Navy Seals executing Osama bin Laden vigilante style and dumping his body into the sea". There was also a reference to "the terror threat grown wildly out of proportion."
The film ended with Stone pleading for an America with more understanding of the positions of our enemies, surrendering the idea of American exceptualism, peace, love, etc.
Upon the completion of the film, Stone entered the hall and he and Kuznick sat at the stage to take questions. I got the first, and it went something like this: "I am a part-time teacher here at the UCI Ext and I would like to address this to Mr Stone because like you, I am a military veteran during the same time period. Unlike you, I was not sent to Vietnam, rather Germany, so I have great respect for your military service to our country. I do feel, however, that your experience has turned you against your country, and I would like to know if you ever considered that were it not for the US and particularly our military, I don't think any country in the world would be living in freedom today. If I have any message for the young people in this room it is that in spite of this one-sided presentation, all our mistakes and dark chapters in our history-and we are still making mistakes today, this is a great country and does deserve your support and loyalty." (Mild applause).
Stone's first sentence back to me was, "Obviously, Sir, we disagree." He then went on a long answer outlining his points beginning with his original belief that the Vietnam war was just when he was sent there, but how he changed his opinions after he returned. He then went on to a litany of other issues before the moderator moved on to the next question. At some point during the Q and A, he made references to former presidents who had led the country into war and who had run against war vets. The prime example he used was George McGovern, who had been a fighter pilot in World War II vs Richard Nixon, who was a "rear echelon officer making his money in the Navy playing cards". (Again I am paraphrasing.) He also mentioned George W Bush, of course, but said nothing about draft dodger Bill Clinton, who defeated George HW Bush and Bob Dole, also decorated WW II vets. Along the way, Stone interspersed his remarks with a few 4-letter bombs.
I did not videotape this event because at the start, they requested no taping. I could have made a scene and insisted on the right to tape since it was a public event at a public university, but since they announced that the school would be posting it on their website, I decided not to.
There were three or four other questions. One older vet became emotional in asking for the Veterans Administration to take more action to help homeless vets. Neither Stone nor Kuznick had much to add to that. A couple of other questions were, frankly, difficult to understand.
During the Q and A, I heard the speakers make several references to America as an imperial power. of course, they did not list any of America's colonies.
To sum up, this movie, while well-produced, is a one-sided presentation of many complex issues in our history including today's issues. While there were several criticisms of intelligence gathering that has intruded on the privacy of the American public, issues like Benghazi, Operation Fast and Furious, and the IRS scandal were not delved into. Perhaps, that has something to do with when production on the film closed. I don't know. I attended this event because I anticipated (correctly) that it would be an exercise in America-bashing. I hoped that I would get an opportunity during the Q and A to say something positive about our country for the benefit of the students in the audience. It was about the only positive thing said about our country all evening.
But what do you expect on the campus of an American university?

Alan Grayson and Martin Bashir
It takes an awful lot to make Martin Bashir, who is not fan of the Tea Party, look reasonable. Yesterday, Bashir interviewed Alan Grayson and criticized him for comparing the Tea Party to the KKK. Grayson refused to see the silliness of his comparison and implied that Bashir is collaborating with the Tea Party in their imagined "racism". Here is an excerpt of that exchange.
I am no admirer of Bashir, who I think is usually smug, arrogant and disingenuous in the true style of MSNBC, for which he works. In this case, however, I have to compliment him on his handling of Grayson.

Sibelius: Blame the Republicans
Kathleen Sibelius, in her arrogance, is one of several administration officials wasting even more of the tax-payers' money running around the country encouraging the masses to sign up for Obamacare-while even suggesting that Republicans share the blame for the botched website.

Michelle Obama and the Sr Vice President of CGI Federal
Hat tip Daily Caller
It's a small world!
It turns out that a senior vice president of CGI Federal, the company that got that big contract to put together the Affordable Health Care website, just happens to be a former Princeton classmate of Michelle Obama. Daily Caller has the report.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/10/25/michelle-obamas-princeton-classmate-is-executive-at-company-that-built-obamacare-website/
We should also note that CGI's bid was the only one considered. Also note that this is a US subsidiary of a Montreal-based firm that was fired by the Canadian government for screwing up a similar website contract. Yet here we are $600 million+ later with a website that doesn't work.
Anyway, I am sure this is all a coincidence.

John McCain Grilled at a Town Hall on Aid to Al Qaeda in Syria
Hat tip Creeping Sharia
John McCain, who is one of the leading voices for assisting the Syrian rebels, got the what-for from an angry constituent at a town hall in Phoenix this week.
McCain also made news this week when he said that he is considering running for president again in 2016-when he will be 80.

US Foreign Policy in Shambles
In the wake of the latest NSA revelations, is there any country in the world not angry at us? Of course, I know from my own overseas government experiences that friends and allies do spy on each other. Even when the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky tidbits were exploding, there were rumors that both the Israelis and Russians were listening to Bill and Monica having phone sex between the White House and Monica's apartment.
At any rate, it is a bit disconcerting to learn that we have been caught tapping German chancellor Angela Merkel's personal cell phone. Ouch. I mean what were they hoping to learn-where she gets her hair done?
"I don't think that's funny."
At any rate, the Europeans have pretty much learned what half of the American people have-that President Obama is an incompetent who is screwing up everything he touches internationally-from Russia to the Middle East to the jungles of Borneo.
Now we learn that even the Saudis are reconsidering their relationship to the US, partly due to our perceived lack of action on Syria and our gullible reaction to the Iranians. In the latter, I have to agree with them. They see the reality of the Iranian regime while Obama-Kerry and EU boob Baroness Lady Catherine Ashton are still trying to talk the mullahs into becoming responsible members of the world community and give up their dream of building a nuclear bomb and blowing Israel to smithereens. No sense bugging Ashton's cell phone because it is of no consequence where she gets her hair done.
"I don't think that's funny."
Of course, Obama's biggest foreign policy flop is in the Middle East. In Egypt, he has linked arms with the Muslim Brotherhood and is insisting that the military bring them back into government. In Syria, he is assisting rebel factions that are aligned with Al Qaeda. In both countries, the Obama administration is ignoring the plight of the Christian minorities who are being persecuted and their churches burned by the aforementioned entities that they support.
And Libya? We all know about Benghazi, don't we? (except for the facts that the administration and State Department refuse to tell us). And just this week, we learn that not only have we not captured or killed any of the terrorists who attacked our consulate, we don't even have a reward being offered for them. Is the administration afraid of what they might say if they are captured?
"What difference at this point does it make?"
But at least there's one foreign policy success that Obama can point to: That Egyptian guy who made the video that was blamed for the Benghazi attack is still in jail.
"Now that's funny!"

The Persecution of Christians in Iran Continues
Is this the same country that the Obama administration wants to negotiate with over its development of nuclear weapons?
"Uhhhhh........yeaaaaaah."
A country that imprisons Christians for consuming wine during mass and sentences them to 80 lashes.
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/10/24/iran-gives-christians-80-lashes-for-communion-wine-as-un-blasts-human-rights/
The situation for those of the Baha'i faith in Iran is worse. They are routinely attacked, arrested, imprisoned and murdered because the Iranian regime does not recognize their faith. They consider it a form of heresy from Islam.
As always, we should make note of those in the West who consort with this regime and defend it: (All of those listed have spoken at UC Irvine in recent years on behalf of the Muslim Student Union.)
George Galloway- Has worked for Iran's Press TV
Yvonne Ridley- Has worked for Press TV
Mohammed al Asi- Ally of Iranian regime. Has been interviewed by Press TV
Cynthia McKinney- Interviewed by Press TV
Abdul Alim Musa- Interviewed by Press TV
Rabbi Ysroel Dovid Weiss- Visitor to Iran and friend of Mahmoud Ahmedinejad
And who are these people, you ask?
You don't wanna know.

Quote of the Day From Handsome Henry Waxman
"Tax me, Henry. Tax me."
"The Affordable Care Act is an enormous success with one obvious problem."

Fact is the website is the least of the problems. People losing their insurance or seeing their rates skyrocket are bigger problems.
Washington Post Article on Anti-Christian Persecution
"Who are the Perps?"
Hat tip Jihad Watch
Steven Nasatir, of the Jewish United Fund and Jewish Federation of Washington, has an op-ed in the Washington Post on the on-going persecution of Christians in the Middle East. The only problem is that beyond listing countries and naming organizations like the Taliban, he doesn't really identify the perps or the motive.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/on-faith/wp/2013/10/24/anti-christian-terror-is-everyones-concern//?print=1
It is heartening that Mr Nasatir, as a Jew , is concerned about the persecution of Christians. I only wish that he had had the courage to spell it out who the perpetrators are and why they are doing it. The persecution of Christians is being carried out by Muslims across the Islamic world and is being done for religious reasons-because they are not Muslims.
There. That wasn't so hard was it?
Last night, I watched Diane Sawyer's special TV show on Malala, the Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban because she spoke up for the rights of girls to get an education. It wasn't until the last few minutes that Sawyer got beyond the fact that it was the Taliban who carried out the shooting and started to delve into the Islamic aspect of it. The Taliban, after all, don't want this girl dead because her family didn't pay protection money. It is their interpretaion of Islam that led this to this heinous act. (To be fair, it should be pointed out that not all Muslims subscribe to the idea that females should not be educated.)
To point out injustices is fine, but it only goes halfway unless you identify the perpetrators.

What are Obama and Hagel Doing to our Military?
For those of you who refuse to turn on or read Fox News, you don't know what you are missing because the other networks would prefer not to report certain things.
Like what is being fed to our troops about the Tea Party and evangelical Christians.
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/10/23/does-army-consider-christians-tea-party-terror-threat/
It is inconceivable that this kind of mentality really exists within the military. It has clearly been injected into the military by their civilian commanders.
President Obama
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel
Major Nidal Hasan was neither an evangelical Christian nor a member of the Tea Party.
The people firing at our troops in Afghanistan are neither evangelical Christians nor members of the Tea Party.
This is simply part and parcel of Obama's agenda for America.

The Obamacare Website Fiasco: Whose Fault is it?
Hat tip John Speedie for audio
"Ain't my f****** fault. ___________ is the F****** guy!"
That was then-Dodger manager Tommy Lasorda a few decades ago blaming the Dodgers' losing on general manager Al Campanis, who had made some bad trades.
Seems the same finger-pointing is going on now in Washington as hearings were held today involving contractors who had put together that $634 million dollar website for enrolling in Obamacare. The witnesses today are testifying that they notified the appropriate government agencies that there were problems in the computer.

Then there was Frank Pallone (D-NJ) blasting the Republicans and calling the hearing a "monkey court".

Meanwhile, Kathleen Sibelius, who was too busy attending some photo op in Arizona to appear, is expected to testify next week. It should be fun.
And if Mr Pallone thinks the Republicans are politicizing this mess, I say, "Why not?" The Republicans did not support Obamacare. They tried to defeat it and lost. This baby belongs totally to Obama, his administration, and the Democrats in Congress who supported it all the way.
