In Norway They Really Do Sue the Ham Sandwich

Hat tip Gates of Vienna and Vlad Tepes

Gates of Vienna has a French report on how a Norwegian school banned the kids from bringing ham sandwiches to school because they offend the other classmates, most of whom are non-Norwegian.

  1. When I was small, I used to take great delight in making myself a cold roast beef sandwich for lunch on Friday, knowing full well that my Roman Catholic babysitter couldn't have one, and would have to make herself a cheese sandwich.

  2. That would be like my public school banning bread products during Passover so Jewish students wouldn't be offended.

They didn't and I grew up stronger in my faith for it. And my friend Tony didn't get mugged for his Twinkie.

  3. The there is banning peanut butter sandwiches because there is one student who can't have it or he'll go into anaphylactic shock... so nobody in the whole school can eat it.
