Feds Raid Saudi Diplomatic Home Outside DC

Hat tip Frontpage Magazine

Here is another indication we need to re-examine our relationship with Saudi Arabia. The Feds have raided what is believed to be the residence of the Saudi military attache in McLean, Virginia, a suburb of Washington DC. It is believed that the case involves a form of human trafficking involving two Filipina maids.

Yes, Virginia. There is still slavery.

  1. Why are we shocked? Slavery is perfectly legal in Islam. After all the "Perfect Man" Muhammad (MHBIH) kept slaves. In fact the word for slave, Abeed is the the same word for Black person.

Our national experience with slavery, shameful as it was, ended some 150 years ago after less than 100 years of sovereignty. It is, however, still a "hot-button issue" in some circles, quite frequently among white liberal Democrats, including many politicians, who must still be afflicted by guilt trips from the actions of their ancestors several generations removed, and perhaps from their own actions more recently. Those of us who are not racists and who have never discriminated against anyone else racially, and who further know that we have not done so, are not burdened with this affliction.

As Gary correctly observes, slavery is still with us elsewhere in the world (Siarlys would probably say it still exists here in the U.S.). It seems to me that where present, it is largely perpetrated by persons of color, or at least some color, or at least not "Caucasians", against other persons of color, or at least some color. Further, these perpetrators are not always Arabic/Muslim. Just some observations.
