Obama: The Cubs Are Doing Fine

President Obama in his news conference today told reporters that the Chicago Cubs "are doing fine".

"The problem", the president continued, "is with the Yankees". "They need more players, and to get them, they need more money", Obama said. Yankee Stadium also needs a bullet train to bring relief pitchers in from the bullpen. The president stated that ticket prices for Yankee Stadium should be raised another 10 dollars per seat.

As evidence for the Cubs' improvement, Obama said that during past year, the team had added David DeJesus in right field, pitcher Chris Volstad, and Ian Stewart at third base while hanging on to left fielder Alfonso Soriano (pictured above). "And don't forget", the president added, "the Cubs are one half game ahead of the San Diego Padres".

 "Ah wunnerful, ah, wunnerful, ah."

  1. On the good news, the White Sox are in 1st place in their division.

The Cubs are a last place. But they have no where to go but up.

  2. Certain portions of "the private sector" ARE doing fine. It would take government action bordering on socialist to get any of it tricking down to even small business, let alone everyday wage workers.

  3. Findalis, I heard Barack Obama is a White Sox fan. I almost stopped volunteering for his campaign, but someone told me Michelle is a Cubs fan.
