Karen Bass on MSNBC

Today, Al Sharpton had Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-CA) on his show to lament the fact that those pesky Republicans in Congress are responsible for today's news that unemployment has risen to 8.2%, and only 65,000 new jobs were created last month. Echoing Obama's complaint in his speech he made today, it is the Republicans' refusal to compromise that has caused the latest bad news according to Sharpton, who is still learning his new trade as a spinmeister. never mind that the Democrats control the White House and Senate. never mind that from 2008 to 2010, they controlled all three branches.

But if you want to know a little background on Karen Bass, you have come to the right place. Prior to becoming a congresswoman, Bass served as assembly speaker in the state legislature in Sacramento, the biggest den of thieves in the country. She even had the effrontery today to point out California's deep deficit, which of course, she blamed on the Republicans in Sacramento and their refusal to compromise (on new taxes). Problem is that Sacramento is under firm Democratic/union control. (Unions are her biggest source of contributions according to Wikipedia-over $101,000.)

But here is all you need to know about Karen Bass based on her history in California from the Fousesquawk archives.

In other words, Karen Bass' resume from her California days consists of helping turn thousands of inmates loose on our streets and getting the Kennedy Profiles in Courage award for...

raising taxes.

"Ah wunnerful, ah wunnerful, ah."

  1. Obviously Gary doesn't like Karen Bass.

Her statements about the national political gridlock are, however, quite accurate.

Gary hasn't denied these facts, merely tried to deflect attention from them by smearing Bass.

    Par for the Republican Party.
