UC Davis Chancellor Grovels and Apologizes

Hat tip to PJ Media. Video by KTVU News

UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi, under fire for ordering her campus police officers to remove an Occupy encampment on campus, has thrown her officers under the bus as she caves in to protesters who are demanding her own resignation. Two officers who actually engaged in pepper-spraying the protesters are suspended as is the UC Davis Campus police chief. Meanwhile, Katehi has addressed the students and apologized.

So much for her credibility.  Keep in mind that she sent out a letter campus-wide on Friday telling the protesters to dismantle their encampment by 3 pm. When that didn't happen, she sent in the campus police to dismantle it. The students refused to obey instructions necessitating some degree of force. Now the question is what kind of force do you want used? Or were the cops simply supposed to turn and walk away when their commands were ignored? It appears that the whole UC system administration from UC President Mark Yudof down to all the chancellors has jumped on the bandwagen to suck up to the protesters. It is obvious now that Chancellor Katehi has lost control of her campus. As for Yudof, he never had control of the UC system.

What a joke.
