"Change the Swiss Flag"

The hills in Switzerland are not exactly alive with the sound of music these days. The Brussels Journal has an article on a move to change the Swiss flag because of that pesky cross. It seems many immigrants find the cross to be offensive.

What do you think, Heidi?

  1. They immigrate as though they were conquerors. In fact, they are the refuge of the world with nomadic tribal cultures and they want to impose that culture on advanced civilized countries. It is only because of soft headed liberals that they are tolerated at all. It won't be too long now before they realize what a stupid mistake they made.

  2. "So what?" to the entire kerfluffle.

P.S. Would you consider an Arabic-speaking country to fall short of complete religious freedom if it retained a crescent on its national flag?

I wouldn't, any more than I take seriously the idea that Switzerland, Greece, Scotland, Sweden, Norway, should remove crosses from their flags.

Just wondered what standard you advocate, if any.

  3. My standard is that any country should tell anyone who says they need to change their flag to take a flying leap. If Switzerland's immigrants don't like the flag, they can leave.

  4. Gary you took the words right out of my hands.

If you don't like the flag, go to a country who has a flag you like.

  5. Conquerors can overrun a country and determine what the flag will be. Immigrants who petition to be let in (or sneak in illegally) do not have that right. They manage to escape the cesspools they came from and then they turn it around and attempt to make their host country the same as their old country.

It is the same story with the Muslim 11 ... trying to impose their version of free speech, for example, on the host culture. There is no limit to what they will try to impose and the stupid left will find some redeeming feature in their demands.

The same resolution for the MSU at UCI ... if they don't like our culture and customs here, then go back to where things are more to their liking and where Israel and US bashing and anti-Semitism is encouraged. If not, then be grateful you have the opportunity to be here and act accordingly.

  6. Almost every definable group that arrived in America immediately set out to revise the laws to their own satisfaction.

For example, Irish immigrants put across an amendment to the state constitution in Pennsylvania that disenfranchised Americans of African descent (who were here first) in the 1830s. Roman Catholics have been moaning and wailing for state subsidies for their parochial schools ever since there were enough of them to be a significant voting bloc.

It's wrong, every time, but its not new, different, unusual, or contrary to human nature.

However, Gary's standard suits me fine. There must be some limits to that... if any nation put a swastika on their flag, if any southern state put an image of a Negro hanging from a tree on their flag... if South Africa ever put a white baby impaled on a bayonet on their flag... but we haven't reached those limits yet.
