The Dopey Wall Street Protest and a Professor's Lament

Could this be John Halle's music class at Bard College?

Tonight on Hannity, I watched a report from the Wall Street protest going on in New York. As usual, it was the same old collection of odd balls, misfits and losers. Below is a report I am cross-posting from my friend and colleague David Stein of Counter Contempt. It concerns -what else- a university professor who praises the protests, but longs for the good old days when protests were more violent. The professor in question is a music professor from Bard College (previously at Yale). His name is John Halle.

This is what is teaching our children, folks.

Who is "Getting Soft", Mr President?

So President Obama thinks we are getting soft, does he?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-29/obama-pushes-for-jobs-plan-during-2-swing-state-tv-interviews.html

And perhaps a bit of malaise too?

"Ah don't think that's funny."

If we are getting soft, it is because many Americans have bought into Obama's ideal of a socialistic society with bailouts and extended unemployment benefits, union give-a-aways and such designed to increase the dependence of people on Big Government.

In Obama's world view, everyone would be dependent on central government to provide the basic necessities of life and more. Those who have succeeded through their own talents and hard work are excoriated as being rich and selfish people who need to pay more taxes so wealth can be evenly distributed to others.

We have already seen this in Europe, haven't we? In Western Europe, ever since the end of the Second World War, Europeans have built a socialist society built around vacations every August and protected by American military might. Meanwhile, Eastern Europeans lived under the thumb of big central governments, while said governments lived under the thumb of Moscow. Both experiments failed miserably as the Western Europeans are just learning.

A few years ago, a German friend told me that the old, stereotyped fleissige Deutscher (industrious, diligent German) was a thing of the past. That is what socialism has accomplished.

That is also what Obama's ideal world view is doing to America. Do you see what is happening to American can-do and initiative? That is what Obama is working to make a thing of the past. What's the point of being industrious, diligent or having initiative if government is going to provide you with everything and take away any "excess" money you make?

Aside from the obvious example of our military, what is the biggest force that is not getting soft? That would be the much excoriated Tea Party that the Obamanites love to condemn.

Obama's latest statement is another example of how he refuses to accept any blame for his actions. He blames others. He blames the opposition.

He blames us.

Janeane Garofalo's Latest Quote

"Hold me in your arms, Janeane."

Now I know why they call Janeane Garofalo a comedienne. Listen to her latest boffo comment about Republican Tea Party favorite Herman Cain:

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/09/29/garofalo-cains-rise-in-support-proves-republican-racism-or-something/

This gal is funnier than Leno, Letterman and Jackie Gleason all rolled up into one. And whose show was it that brought her in to make this pronouncement? Here's a hint:

That's right. Keith Olbermann, whom we haven't heard from since he got booted off MSNBC and took his "Meltdown" show to Al Gore's Global Warming network.

And what else did Olbermann and Garofalo chat about in front of dozens of viewers nationwide? They probably  argued about which one of them is Napoleon.

CAIR's Careful Statement on Killing of Anwar Awlaki

Here is what the unindicted co-conspirators at CAIR have to say about the killing of Anwar Awlaki courtesy of Fox News.

How typically-duplicitous is this of CAIR?

A voice of hate? This man was an American-born traitor, who very likely, had a hand in 9-11. He was likely involved in the Ft Hood massacre as a conspirator/mentor to the actual killer, as well the underwear bomber in Detroit. Maybe we should do some research into what connections, if any CAIR had to Awlaki himself.

Last August, Steve Emerson's Investigative Project on Terrorism reported that CAIR intervened when a woman was questioned by the feds about Awlaki. (That's what CAIR loves to do.)

http://www.investigativeproject.org/2103/actions-would-speak-louder-than-words-in-cairs

Here is what Frontpage Magazine published last year about Awlaki ties to CAIR figures in LA and San Diego. Note that the writer is Joe Kaufman, whom CAIR tried to sue a couple of years back over another issue.

http://frontpagemag.com/2010/01/22/cair%E2%80%99s-fort-hood-idol/

Here is what ABC News San Diego had to say in December 2009 about CAIR representative Edgar Hopida's reaction to the terrorist allegations against Awlaki:

http://www.10news.com/news/21566748/detail.html

In June 2011, Creeping Sharia, via Fox News, published this on possible connections between Awlaki and CAIR CEO Nihad Awad:

http://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2011/06/08/hamas-linked-cair-invited-to-pentagons-al-awlaki-lunch-months-after-911/

So, as you can see, it is perfectly understandable why CAIR would issue such a cautiously-worded statement as they did.

"Uhhhh......yeaaaaah."

Ron Paul Criticizes Killing of Anwar Awlaki

This is why I will never vote for Ron Paul.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/30/paul-criticizes-obama-on-al-awlaki-killing/

This man does not understand what the war on terror is all about. He is still of the delusion that terrorists should be captured and prosecuted in the US. He does not understand that terororists fall outside the normal criminal law and that they have no rights under the Geneva Convention. Ron Paul thinks that WE are the aggressors.

He has no business being president. He will be weak on terror.

Anwar Awlaki, Samir Khan Killed in Yemen

Great news, indeed. Fugitive cleric Anwar Awlaki and Samir Khan, who ran a terror-supporting website from his home in North Carolina, have been killed by a drone strike in Yemen.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/09/30/us-born-terror-boss-anwar-al-awlaki-killed/

Samir Khan was previously featured on this site when he was living in Charlotte.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2008/06/in-our-own-back-yard-jihad-blog-in.html

I have to say one thing here in defense of President Obama. I am becoming increasingly of the opinion that we are reaching the extent of what we can hope to accomplish in Afghanistan and other places in the Middle East. More specifically, I am most skeptical of the idea of nation-building. The idea of these targeted attacks, including drones, looks better to me all the time. Countries that cannot or will deal with terrorists within their borders should be put on notice that the US and hopefully our allies will take them out ourselves by such methods.

The killing of Awlaki especially should remind us that this was one of the so-called "moderates" that our government erroneously reached out to after 9-11. It is very likely, however, that he had an involvement in the attacks.

One more reason not to miss happy hour this evening. Job well done.

Adam Gadahn: More From Amir the Animator

Hat tip to Amir the Animator

This guy is great! Here is another clip from Amir the Animator on American Al Qaida spokeshole Adam Gadahn (formerly of the Garden Grove Islamic Center). This is called Adam Gadahn the Spokesperson.

I'm going to link this site on Fousesquawk. Lots of good stuff. More to follow.

Steven Schwartz Calls Out John Esposito of Georgetown

Hat tip to American Thinker

Lest my readers think that I only criticize academic lunacy within the University of California-think again. Meet John Esposito, activist professor at Georgetown University and an apologist foir radical Islamists world-wide. Steven Schwartz, a Muslim convert from Judaism, has written the below piece in American Thinker. Schwartz is the head of the Center for Islamic Pluralism (linked on this blog). He is a true moderate and open critic of militant Islamists and many of the leading Muslim organizations in America.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/09/john_l_esposito_apologist_for_wahhabi_islam.html

Well stated Mr Schwartz. Esposito, though one of the more prominent professors, is one of so, so many, who are funded by Saudi money in our universities to advance the Wahhabist cause.

Fast and Furious-Did an ATF Supervisor Lie Under Oath?

The new revelations about Operation Fast and Furious are coming, well, fast and furious. Now, as reported by Pajamas Media, it appears that an ATF supervisor might have been less than honest in his testimony before Congress.

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/gunwalker-agent-admits-his-testimony-lacked-completeness/

As a former federal agent who has testified hundreds of times under oath before trials, hearings and grand juries, I never committed perjury. I never had to go back and "amend" my testimony.

This just makes me sick. This is what political pressure from the DOJ has brought to bear on an ATF supervisory agent who should have known better.

Rabbi Ysroel Dovid Weiss: Why Don't You Ask Ahmadinejad to Extend Mercy?

The Christian convert from Islam in Iran, now a pastor, has been sentenced to death by the barbaric regime in Iran. Some organizations are urging readers to send a message to Sec. of State Hillary Clinton to try to make some sort of an appeal for mercy. I don't know what good that would do, but it seems to me that Rabbi Ysroel Dovid Weiss of the Neturei Karta sect in New York would be the perfect figure to plead for mercy since he is a close friend and supporter of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/09/28/iranian-pastor-faces-execution-for-refusing-to-recant-christian-faith/?test=latestnews

So if you are out there Rabbi Weiss, would you be interested in asking your friend to intervene and extend mercy? ( I am attempting to get this to him as I write.)

Jay Carney: George Kaiser Visited White House for Charity

Valerie Jarrett
"Director of White House Charities"

Yep. That's what White House spokesman Jay Carney told the White House press corps today. Believe it or not, ABC has this story below. (Maybe they believe Carney.)

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/white-house-meetings-obama-fundraiser-charity-535m-solyndra/story?id=14529609

So let's see if I got this straight. George Kaiser, as we know, was a bundler and contributor for the Obama 2008 campaign. He is also a major investor in Solyndra, the solar panel company that got $535 million from the government and is now bankrupt. Are ya with me so far?

"Uhhh.....yeaaaah."

In addition, we learn that Kaiser visited the White House 4 times in the days leading up to the loan approval and some dozen times afterward. He met with Valerie Jarret and her staff as well as others.

And it was all about charity.

Here is the important point to be asked by the media (if they care to): I am not prepared to call Carney a liar. According to his job description, if his bosses tell him to go out there and tell the press corps that the world is a big triangle, then his job is to state exactly that. The question someone needs to ask Jay is who gave him that bunk about Kaiser's visits having to do with charity?

Pajamas Media Assessment of ATF's Fast and Furious

Bob Owens, among others, of Pajamas Media continues to write about ATF's Operation Fast and Furious. Actually, I should refer to it as DOJ's Fast and Furious because they are clearly the ones behind it.

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/msm-sheep-ignoring-the-scandal-of-the-century/

Let's be clear; I am not downplaying the seriousness of Watergate. It was wrong and a clear abuse of government power. Yet, it must be repeated that nobody died in Watergate. In Fast and Furious, we have two dead Border Patrol agents, one wounded and probably well over a hundred dead in Mexico, killed by these weapons that were allowed to go into Mexico rather than be seized. Now we are looking at a governmental coverup.

And where is the Washington Post (and other newspapers and organizations)? Where are those sterling investigative reporters knocking on doors late at night trying to ferret out the truth?

Scandal of the Century? I don't know, but it is a scandal in the same league as Watergate. The difference is that we are not talking about the Nixon administration here. We are talking about the Democratic Obama administration, and most of the mainstream media has no stomach or desire to pursue this.

Can you not see the hypocrisy?

Obama's Campaign Living on Coffee and Pizza-Need $3.00

As my readers know, I recently sent two information requests to President Obama's Attack Watch website in regards to Solyndra and Fast and Furious. Did I ever get a response?

However, I have since been receiving e-mails from Obama's re-election campaign asking for donations. Not much-just $3.00, if you can believe it. Check this out:

"Friend --

I'm the national finance director here at OFA.

I know we've been sending you a lot of email lately. That's because we're staring down a critical fundraising deadline tomorrow at midnight.

You know what that means for your inbox, but let me give you a sense of what that looks like around here.

The staff and I are working around the clock, powered by too much coffee. It's been way too long since we called our moms. And we've all had more pizza and bad takeout in the past few weeks than anyone should have in a year.

No one's complaining; that's what we signed up for. And we're not doing this just because it's our job to make sure the campaign has the resources it needs. We're doing this because it's part of what defines this movement.

From the beginning, we've refused to take money from D.C. lobbyists and corporate special interests. Our operation is fueled by people inspiring each other to take ownership of this campaign.

(How about Solyndra?)

That's why we've been emailing this week, and that's why I'm obligated to remind you once more that the deadline is coming up in a matter of hours.

If you're able to, will you chip in just $3 today?

(Link deleted)

For all of us here at HQ, and all of the staff and volunteers across the country counting on these resources, I really appreciate your help.

Orange County District Attorney Releases Evidence in "Irvine 11" Trial

Hat tip to OC Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism.

Orange County DA Tony Rackauckas has released evidence introduced in the recently-concluded "Irvine 11" Trial. The below link from the OC Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism has the links to the DA's site. This evidence is now part of public record.

http://octaskforce.wordpress.com/2011/09/28/da-releases-irvine11-evidence-to-public-video-we-pretty-much-shut-him-down/

The emails and MSU communications  included in the exhibits show that the disruption was planned, and that a post-event cover-up occurred in that the story line would be that the MSU itself did not organize the disruption rather that students acted on their own. There is a video of the incident, as well as a video after the event in which MSU members are told by their leader that they had pretty much "shut it down" and that they should proceed to the Cross Cultural Center on the UCi campus for a "debriefing".

Swell.

How to Rape a 13-Year-Old Girl and Get a Standing Ovation in Europe-Roman Polanski

Hollywood has seen its share of despicable characters over the decades, but none so repulsive as director Roman Polanskl, who fled the US after pleading guilty to "unlawful intercourse" with a 13-year-old girl. Polanski, now safely protected by France (which thinks that rape is no big deal), and other European countries, has accepted an award from adoring movie types at the Zurich Film Festival-a standing ovation, no less. He even "apologized" for raping the girl.

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/09/28/roman-polanski-apologizes-to-woman-raped-when-was-13-also-blames-press/?test=faces

May Roman Polanski get testicular cancer, as well as the jerks who applauded him in Zurich
(or whatever other appropriate malady).

Adam Gadahn-Say it Ain't So!

Hat tip to Amir the Animator

Here is an interesting take on American traitor Adam Gadahn, the Southern California lad who ran off to join the jihad and is the spokesman for Al Qaida. The below video comes to us from Amir the Animator. It's entitled, "Gadahn the Traitor". (Traitor to whom I'm not sure.)

http://youtu.be/ygmugQHX25c

Could it actually be that Adam Gadahn is a snitch???

I wonder what the folks back in Muzammil Siddiqi's compound in Garden Grove (from where Adam ran off to join the jihad) would think about that.

Christian Pastor Faces Execution in Iran

Last night at the City of Orange City Council meeting, I was chatting with an acquaintance, who is a Christian from Iran. She was telling me about the religious intolerance that exists in Iran and how they were brought up to believe that Jews were dirty, smelly, unclean, and all sorts of things. It brought me back to thinking about that Jewish rabbi from the crazy Neturei Karta sect in New York, Ysroel Dovid Weiss, a nut job who spoke on behalf of the UC-Irvine Muslim Student Union last May during Israel-Apartheid Week. In my exchange with him after his dopey speech, he explained his friendship with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whom he regularly visits in Iran, by informing me that Iran protects its Jewish minority. He would not address my accusations about persecution of Baha'i and homosexuals. Weiss is pictured below schmoozing with Ahmadinejad.

Now comes this piece of news that a Christian pastor faces execution because he refuses to recant and return to Islam. (Are you reading this CAIR? I know you are.)

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/09/28/iranian-pastor-faces-execution-for-refusing-to-recant-christian-faith/

As CAIR goes about its duties of telling us how badly Muslims are treated in this country (which is a crock) and threatening to sue every person who dares speak out about these outrages around the world, they might try to come up with an explanation for this horror.

"Well, that's just Iran. We are opposed to Ahmadinejad. After all, we are always speaking out against him and Iranian policies towards, Jews, gays, Baha'i and Christians."

OK.

"Well, that's just Sudan. We condemn the genocide against the Darfurians and other black (non-Muslim Sudanese in the south). We are always speaking out against it."

OK.

"Well that's just Pakistan. We are always speaking out against the killing of Christians and Ahmadis and the burning of churches."

OK.

"Well thats just Iraq. We are always speaking out against the killing of Christians and the killing of Sunnis and Shia by each other."

OK.

Oh Well, that's just Egypt. We are always speaking out against the persecution of Coptic Christians.

OK

"Well, that's just Yemen. We are always speaking out against the plight of the ancient Jewish community-what's left of it."

OK.

Well, that's just Gaza. We are always speaking out against the terror group, Hamas and their lobbing of rockets into Israeli schoolyards and their charter of killing the last Jew according to the hadith....."

OK.

Well, that's just Nigeria. We are always speaking out against the slaughter of Christians in the Muslim-dominated areas."

"Aren't we, boys?"

"That's right!"

* For all you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies majors, that's Norman Finkelstein, the famed "independent scholar with a PHD from Princeton. You've probably seen him on your campus a hundred times.

By the way, a very recent poll this year by the Abu Dhabi Gallup Center indicates that about 11% of US Muslims identify with CAIR. As for Weiss' Neturei Karta sect, I think you could fit them all into a phone booth.

* Phone booth- For all you UC Santa Cruz.......... never mind.

Quote of the Day From NC Gov Bev Perdue

Bev Perdue (D)
Governor of North Carolina

Can't make this stuff up, folks. Bev Perdue, the Democratic governor of North Carolina, says the way to solve our economic problems is to cancel the next congressional elections.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/27/north-carolina-governor-suggests-suspending-elections-to-spur-economic/

"Why didn't I think of that?"

Actually, I know of one guy who did think of that.

Snitching For Attack Watch

I did it! I snitched to President Obama's Attack Watch web site.

Here is a letter I sent to Attack Watch yesterday about the Solyndra scandal.

Dear Staff,

Regarding the Solyndra scandal, Pajamas Media is publishing articles that imply that the president /White House was pushing a 535 million dollar loan to Solyndra even though the Bush White House had concluded it should not be made. Conservatives are also alleging that the loan was due to political connections involving a man named Geo. Kaiser who was a campaign contributor and bundler. They say that the loan was expedited when Pres. Obama came into office in spite of reservations by DOE and OMB.

Can you enlighten me on this and can the 535 million be recovered?

Why did the 2 Solyndra execs take the 5th amendment this week?

Thank you,

Gary Fouse
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here is one I sent yesterday regarding the Fast and Furious scandal:

Dear Attack Watch Staff,

My conservative friends are referring me to the blog, Pajamas Media which is publishing a series of articles on the ATF Fast and Furious scandal. The articles allege that this case goes all the way to the Attorney General and the White House. I read that a White House official, named O’Reilly and high level Justice Department officials were involved in this operation being run out of Arizona. Two Border Patrol agents were reportedly killed by weapons linked to the case.

Can you enlighten me on this story? Who initiated this operation and made the decision to let guns walk into Mexico? Was it DOJ, the White House or dreamed up by some rogue agents and supervisors in Arizona?

Thank you,

Gary Fouse
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course, there has been zero response. I think I should have received the "straight skinny" by now. That's what the web site promises us.

Apologies to Pajamas Media for snitching them off.

"You're a dead man, Fousesquawk."

Angriffwache (Attack Watch)

Dr Josef Goebbels- Information Czar shown here at home with his lovely daughter, Helga

The following is an announcement from Dr Josef Goebbels:

Liebe Deutsche Volksgenossen und Volksgenossinnin (Dear fellow Germans),

I am happy tonight to announce the establishment of the Fuehrer's new website (Angriffwache- Attack Watch). With this important new website, you can report directly to the Reich government any attacks against our Fuehrer. There is even a drop-down box where you can indicate from which source the attacks came from and identify the attacker.

As you know, there have been a series of unfounded attacks against our Fuehrer lately. For example, certain rumor-mongers have claimed that the Fuehrer is anti-Semitic and wants to start a world war. There have been false reports of arrests of opposition figures and "concentration camps"- all blatant lies.

When you send in the information to the Reich Chancellery, we will send you back the truthful information. For example, the Fuehrer loves Jews and is a man of peace.

So with that next election coming up, do your part to prevent the smears before they start. Report any attack against our beloved Fuehrer and do your duty as a German citizen.

Thank you.

Dr Josef Gobbels

"Good news, mein Fuehrer. We're getting lots of reports on our new Attack Watch website."

An Article by Zuhdi Jasser That All Americans Should Read

Dr Zuhdi Jasser

Dr Zuhdi Jasser, a Syrian-American military veteran, physician, and a true moderate and patriotic American Muslim has written a long article for Arizona Central.Com, which was referenced tonight by my friend and colleague Karen Lugo as she spoke in defense of Orange City Councilman Jon Dumitru. In the below article, Jasser describes a visit to his local mosque in Arizona and the offensive comments made by the imam. The imam's sermon includes conspiratorial comments about 9-11 and other comments that would tend to divide Muslims from an American identity. Jasser describes his worry about how the imam's words will impact his children.

http://www.azcentral.com/members/ViewPost/2253035

Keep in mind that Jasser is called a traitor by many Muslim leaders. He speaks his mind at the risk of his life. These are the Muslims we need to support. Karen Lugo, a constitutional attorney who teaches at nearby Chapman University, has incurred the wrath of the fascist pinhead academics at Chapman who have tried to have her fired for speaking her mind about Islamo-Fascism. I guess this will give these pinheads further inspiration to silence Lugo at Chapman. That's the CAIR tactic, you know.

Jasser is the head of the Islamic American Forum for Democracy, which is linked on this blog. Here is an additional link. I urge you to visit his site.

The Public Turns Out to Support an Orange City Councilman

Jon Dumitru

As previously reported, City of Orange (CA) City Councilman Jon Dumitru has aroused the ire of CAIR in Southern California for posting a statement on his facebook page that linked Islamic teaching and the Koran to 9-11. This was posted on the 10th anniversary of 9-11. Tonight, I and about 20 or so people turned out to support Dumitru.

I didn't count the number of persons who rose to speak for 3 minutes on (any issue). Only one person spoke on an unrelated issue. I would say at least 15 spoke in defense of Dumitru. No one spoke against him. There were no CAIR represntatives present. (We thought they were going to attend and bring out protestors, but they didn't show.)

The comments covered a wide range of points relating to 9-11, terrorism, Islam and other aspects of the issue. Karen Lugo, a constitutional attorney and professor at Chapman University-just down the street- cancelled her planned comments and instead related the points of an article written by Dr Zuhdi Jasser, a true Muslim moderate and patriot. I will cross-post that article in a separate posting.

In my comments, I made two points:

1 Demitru's comments, in my view, were not a condemnation of Muslims as a people.

2 The crux of the controversy is that he had linked 9-11 to Islamic teachings. Whether one agrees or disagrees with that point, it is a question that all Americans are discussing among themselves. Americans since 9-11 have every right to ask themselves this question and make a decision. Groups like CAIR want to silence that discussion. Not in America. We have a First Amendment right to speak on this and other issues, and we will do so.

A lot of speakers made reference to CAIR and their agenda. I was hoping that LA director Hussam Ayloush would come and speak his piece. As in the similar incident in San Juan Capistrano last week, he showed that he is good at writing letters and making complaints and demands, but he can't engage with his critics. That's the way bullies operate. Make no  mistake, CAIR is a bully organization. Had Ayloush showed up tonight, he would have met a lot of people who know how to stand up to bullies.

Afterward, Dumitru thanked his supporters and talked about his life in the past two weeks. He stated that he had even received physical threats via e-mail. To applause, he reiterated that he will not apologize for anything.

A Response to Morgan Freeman

This week, actor Morgan Freeman was interviewed by the hapless Piers Morgan on CNN. In that interview, Freeman accused the Tea Party of being racist because of their opposition to President Obama.

http://youtu.be/Yecco-KPDK4

Comment: First of all, Freeman took the well-documented statement by a Tea Party leader (and others) that their goal was to make sure Obama served only one term. Sure enough. What Freeman added was his own view in such a way as to make the casual viewer think  that they wanted to "get that black guy out of there". That is patently false. Such a statement has not been made by any Tea Party leader to my knowledge.

It is not about race. It is about Obama's left-wing, big government policies. Indeed, the main reason the Tea Party was born as a movement was in opposition to higher taxes and more government control. They have also opposed any Republican office-holders who have not stood up for those principles.

Secondly, who are the most-favored figures with the Tea Party among Republican presidential candidates-and talked-about possible candidates?

Herman Cain
Marco Rubio
Allen West
Michele Bachmann
Sarah Palin

Of course, it's pretty hard to call the Tea Party sexist when the turnouts are about half women.

I guarantee you if Allen West ever declares his candidacy for president (and he will someday) the Tea Party will support him above all others.

So much for Mr Freeman's racist charges.

And if any us "cried" when Obama was elected, it was because we had done what the media neglected to do-vet him. We did the research. We examined the words of Obama's infamous pastor. We examined the connections with Bill Ayres, Bernadine Dohrn, and others. We examined Obama's sparse qualifications for president, and we knew that he was a far leftist. That is why we were disappointed that Obama became president, and we have seen our fears realized.

If Barack Obama were indeed a president of all the poeple, how do you explain a race-obsessed Justice Department under Eric Holder that picks and chooses its civil rights cases by who the victims and perpetrators are? Would Obama have made those statements about making the Republicans ride in the back seat? Would we have a Democratic Congress engaging in character assassination against a large segment of the population (their political opponents and the Tea party)? Why would Obama engage in class warfare with his rhetoric in trying to raise taxes on higher income-earners?

Here is Herman Cain's response to Mr Freeman on Fox News with Neil Cavuto:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orbWXl7Ydk4&feature=related

I don't know Mr Morgan, and he may be a good guy. But his statement is another example of calling anyone who isn't on Obama's side a racist. To use his own words, we need to be better than that.

CAIR's Connections to Libya and Sudan

Nihad Awad-CAIR CEO

(Hat tip to Creeping Sharia and World Net Daily)

Hopefully, our government is going to take another look at CAIR and its leadership.

http://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2011/09/27/muslim-group-cair-solicited-funds-from-gadhafi-war-criminal-bashir/

So now the Council on American Islamic Relations is soliciting money from the dictators of Libya and Sudan (ex-dictator in the case of Libya). Yet CAIR says they are involved in US issues (thus cannot comment on all those nasty things going on overseas.)

I thought that organizations getting money from overseas sources were supposed to report such to the government or something like that. Silly me.

Two Executions in America: A French Comment

Hat tip to Gallia Watch

Last week I wrote about the execution of Troy Davis in Georgia and noted the sparse attention given to the  execution of one of the murderers of James Byrd in Texas. The Georgia execution drew protests, not only in Georgia, but in Europe as well. Below is a comment in France about both executions, courtesy of Gallia Watch, which also provided the French translation to the original comment by Mr. Yves Daoudal.
http://galliawatch.blogspot.com/2011/09/double-standard.html#links

What the French observers may have missed is that in Texas, the system worked extremely well, notwithstanding the demand that Texas prosecute for hate crime violation in the case of the Byrd murder. In that instance, the black and white communities came together as one in Jasper, the town where the crime was committed. When Jesse Jackson came to town to do his thing, the black leaders politely told him to go home because his services were not needed. Yet, that execution drew relatively sparse attention when it should have been shouted from the rooftops that justice had been done.

Amazing how two murder cases are judged by different standards.

Good News and Bad News in Saudi Arabia

Good News! The King of Saudi Arabia has announced that women will be able to vote-in 4 years. Susan B Anthony would be proud.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/09/26/saudi-women-can-vote-but-face-long-road-without-drivers-license-to-equality/

President Obama must be grateful.

Now for the bad news. Saudi woman to get ten lashes for driving.

"Ten lashes for driving under the influence, by Jove?"

No. Ten lashes for driving.

This is the same country that is sending millions to US universities to establish Middle Eastern Studies departments staffed with anti-Israel activist professors. This is the same country that we are dependent on for oil because we won't drill more in our own territory.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

Fast and Furious Gets Dirtier and Dirtier

The revelations get worse every day. Now Fox News reports that an ATF undercover agent was involved in buying guns with official taxpayer funds, selling them undercover to a known suspect, and then was ordered by his supervisor to break off surveillance prompting a shouting match in the Arizona ATF office.

As a retired DEA agent, I am dumbfounded at these practices involving guns being allowed to go to the Mexican cartels. Not only two Border Patrol agents have been killed with these guns but some estimated 150 Mexicans as well.

It is now time for Supervisor David Voth to be put under oath by the Congressional committee investigating this disgraceful episode.

Obama: Of Billionaires, Jews and Janitors

Hat tip to Gateway Pundit and my friend, Linnea.

I get a kick out of listening to Barack Obama lecturing the Congressional Black Caucus this week about getting up off their asses, stopping complaining, and getting to work etc, etc, etc as if he (born to a Kenyan father) were also a descendant of slaves who had worked in the Civil Rights movement. Not to mention that Honolulu/Indonesian street accent. Then there is this slip of the tongue. I'll let the reader figure out what this was all about.

So do you think President Obama was confusing Jews with janitors or billionaires?

AMCHA Initiative Gets Attention of Media and University of California

"One person's hate speech is another person's education."

I have previously written about the AMCHA Initiative, focused on a petition to University of California President  Mark Yudof demanding that the university take steps to protect Jewish students from anti-Semitic acts of harassment. Below is a message I received from my friends, AMCHA leaders, Tammi Benjamin, Lecturer at UC Santa Cruz and Leila Beckwith, Professor Emeritus at UCLA.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Dear AMCHA Initiative Supporter:

Congratulations! Our letter to University of California President Mark Yudof expressing concern about the hostile environment for Jewish students on some UC campuses, signed by over 5,000 members and supporters of the California Jewish community, has received public recognition from the UC administration, the LA Times, and Israel National News!

In contrast to last year’s dismissive response to a similar letter from 12 Jewish organizations , the AMCHA Initiative letter has compelled President Yudof, for the first time, to post an official statement on the UC website recognizing the concerns of the Jewish community with regard to anti-Jewish bigotry:

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/article/26327

Although President Yudof does not address the specific issues we raise in our letter, nor are the University's efforts to date adequate to protecting Jewish students from anti-Semitic harassment, we are nevertheless pleased that the concerns of the California Jewish community for the safety and well-being of our students on UC campuses have finally been officially and publicly acknowledged.

Here is an article about the AMCHA Initiative letter that appeared in Friday's LA Times:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/09/jewish-groups-complain-of-anti-semitism-at-uc-campuses.html

At the end of the article, President Yudof is quoted as saying that the university can do nothing about anti-Semitic speech, which is protected under the first amendment. We want to remind President Yudof and all UC leaders that they have a legal responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of our students at the University of California. They also have a moral and educational responsibility to exercise their own free speech in condemning anti-Jewish bigotry swiftly, forcefully, and publicly -- just as they have done in the past with respect to bigotry directed at other ethnic minorities.

Israel National News (Arutz Sheva) has also reported on our letter to President Yudof:

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/148255

Your support is making a difference! UC leaders now know that the California Jewish community will not remain silent while Jewish students are being harassed and intimidated on UC campuses!

We will keep you updated about responses to our letter and future efforts of the AMCHA Initiative.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year,"

Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, Lecturer, University of California at Santa Cruz

Leila Beckwith, Professor Emeritus, UCLA

"Although President Yudof does not address the specific issues we raise in our letter, nor are the University's efforts to date adequate to protecting Jewish students from anti-Semitic harassment........."

I'll say. Let's go to Yudof's letter and point a few things out.

"Such difficulties, of course, do not lessen our obligation to do everything in our power to eradicate this cancer whenever and wherever it flares anew. With the Board of Regents, campus leadership and affected students, I have worked hard to ensure that all such incidents have been met with swift and appropriate action. We have condemned these despicable incidents, published statements outlining the unacceptable nature of such behavior, and students have been disciplined to the full extent possible. All incidents of hate speech have been promptly investigated."

A couple of years ago,  after filming a speech by Amir Abdel Malik Ali at UC Irvine, a young Jewish girl was followed back to her car and surrounded by several male members of the Muslim Student Union, trying to take down her vehicle ID information. She called campus police as did a community woman who was witness and who  was subjected to similar treatment by the students, who crawled on her hood trying to jot down the VIN number. The police took no action and later told the witness that the Jewish female was the instigator. Absolutely no action was taken against the students. I know both females involved and have heard their account first-hand.

How about UC Berkeley professor Andrew Gutierrez, who showed up at a small and peaceful Jewish protest against swastikas appearing on campus bathroom walls last year? This blog has a video and photograph of Gutierrez heckling Jewish students and giving them the finger. Where was the condemnation of that?

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2010/05/uc-berkeley-professor-objects-to.html

Where was the condemnation in 2002 when Mohammed al-Asi said at UCI in 2001, "You can take the Jew out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the Jew."? (To be fair, the UCI chancellor at that time was the useless Ralph Cicerone, now running the National Academy of Sciences, and Yudof had not yet joined UC.)

In May of 2010, Amir Abdel Malik Ali told Jewish audience members at UCI, "You Jews! Y'all the new Nazis!" In response, Chancellor Michael Drake condemned the speaker's hate speech without identifying the speaker, the (MSU) event, or the objectionable comment.

The important point is that while acknowledging that hate speech can be protected free speech, we have been asking university officials to at least condemn the hateful words with specificity. I raised that specific point to UCI Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky during Q and A after he gave a speech last year at a local synagogue. Drake's above comment is the strongest response we have seen at UCI, but it was not nearly specific enough.

"In response to the February 2010 incident at UC Irvine involving the disruption of a speech by Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, by members of the campus Muslim Student Union (MSU), the students involved in the disruption were arrested and the matter was referred to the Orange County District Attorney's Office and to the Student Judiciary Office. The latter initiated its Student Judiciary Review process to address the issues under their jurisdiction. On May 27, 2010, a letter of sanction was issued to the MSU, which included a one-year suspension followed by one year of probation. According to the Chancellor's Office, these sanctions "were based on a thorough evaluation of the facts and were proportionate to the severity of violations of UC Irvine's Student Code of Conduct." In addition, earlier this year, the Orange County District Attorney's Office filed misdemeanor charges of conspiring to disrupt a meeting and a speech against 11 UC students in connection with the disruption."

That one-year suspension was reduced to one quarter by Vice Chancellor Manuel Gomez on his last day in office as he went into retirement. (It was hardly surprising.)

As for the Campus Climate boards set up, I won't even waste time on that. I consider it a joke.

In spite of that, the AMCHA Initiative is accomplishing something positve. The problem is gaining exposure, as evidenced by the attached articles, and the pressure on Yudof continues.
