As a retired DEA agent, I consider this a shocking development, but one that must be brought to the attention of the public. Read what the agents are saying. While they want to do the job they were hired to do, they are being stopped from the top. Clearly Morton and his gang are more interested in legalizing people than enforcing the law.

In my final years in DEA, we had an administrator (director) named Thomas Constantine, who came over from the NY State Police. The story goes that the NYSP held a farewell party for him-and he wasn't invited. Under Constantine, DEA morale plummeted because it was sensed that he didn't have much regard for DEA agents and seemed more interested in disciplining them than supporting them. Yet, there was no real justification for issuing a vote of no-confidence, which would have been unheard of. After all, he was not doing anything to defeat the DEA mission. According to the ICE measure, Morton is. Don't forget, Morton is the one who recently announced that his agency might not cooperate with Arizona in accepting detained illegal aliens from state police authorities.

And who is Phyllis Coven? If you go to the ICE website, details are sketchy as to her background. Ditto for a Google search. Is she just another "immigration activist" who has found herself in a position of power in the Obama administration.

If the charges are true, obviously, Morton's policies are coming down from above. It is a reflection on the overall attitude toward law enforcement that has been perceived in the Obama administration, the DOJ under Eric Holder, and DHS under Janet Napolitano.

So much for the Obama claim that they are "ridding" the country of more illegal immigrants than the Bush administration. It appears to be a catch and release policy.

This "direction from above" appears to the explanation for why the DOJ did nothing about the Galloway illegal fundraiser on campus that UCI turned over to them. It is obviously why the Army investigators didn't find any connection with Militant Islam and Major Hassan who was shouting "Allah Akbar" during his murderous rampage at Ft. Hood. This invisible direction from above also seems to be why the State Dept finances the fund raising trip to the Middle East for the NY mosque imam.
This is either from the President or from his appointees who they insure think as he does. This Presidency has been a catastrophe in all dimensions.
