Protests in Manchester-Against the BBC

(Hat tip to Atlas Shrugs)

From looking at the European news organs, it looks like the media is blaming Israel in no uncertain terms for the Gaza ship boarding incident. Predictably, crowds are turning out in European cities to scream their hatred of Israel. In Manchester, the local thugs took it a step further. Apparently not satisfied with the BBC reporting, they stormed the BBC offices and tried to smash in the doors as police circled the building.

More Footage of the Gaza Incident

It's a good thing that Israeli Defense Forces video-taped their boarding of the Turkish boat Mavi Marmara and recorded what happened as their soldiers dropped down on deck from helicopters. Below is footage from the IDF blog. Watch as each soldier is attacked with clubs and/or steel rods as soon as they hit the deck.

Prior to boarding, the IDF warned the flotilla. See below video (Hat tip to Fausta's Blog):

(IDF Spokesperson blog)

Here are some of the weapons used by those on board.

(IDF Spokesperson blog)

And you question why some people got shot?

While In Pakistan........

It is always interesting to watch the world rise up in condemnation against Israel as she tries to defend herself against a worldwide effort to literally destroy her while atrocity after atrocity in the Muslim world goes unnoticed.

On Friday, gunmen and bombers launched simultaneous attacks against mosques in the eastern city of Lahore, Pakistan. Eighty worshipers were killed.

Why did it happen? It happened because the mosques belonged to a minority sect of Islam, the Ahmadi sect. This sect is rejected by the majority Sunnis over a dispute on who the legitmate successor to the Prophet Mohammed should be. So, just like the wars between Sunni and Shia, the Ahmadis in Pakistan must be killed.

However, you won't see this issue taken up by the UN. You won't see any mention of it by CAIR. Nor will you hear much discussion and analysis in our universities. God forbid that anyone in our universities would suggest a divestment from Pakistan.

"Tell us, professor; why do Muslims kill each other all over the world?"

Of course, many will answer that centuries or millenia ago, Christians and Jews killed each other over religion. Ever hear about the Inquisition or the Crusades?

That is all true, but those things happened well, centuries or millenia ago. This is happening now. I had hoped that Friday's incident might spark a world-wide discussion-in the interest of all including Muslims. However, the Israeli raid on the Free Gaza flotilla has now taken center stage.

How convenient.

Watch the World Blame Israel

At this point, the number of dead in the Israeli attack on the "Free Gaza" flotilla stands somewhere between 10-15 with dozens injured-including several IDF troops. The initial tweets from Free Gaza claimed that IDF troops boarded the ships guns blazing and that some passengers were shot to death as they slept in their bunks. (I seriously doubt that.) In contrast, Israel says that the soldiers were attacked by passengers and/or crew members with clubs, knives and other weapons as they boarded. In addition, the IDF claims that some troops had their weapons taken away, at which point, gunfire was exchanged.

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE64U27020100531

At about the 20 second mark (above), you can see an IDF soldier landing on deck from a helicopter and immediately being attacked by three individuals (RT).

What is pretty obvious at this point is that no matter what details emerge, Israel will lose the world-wide public relations war. Forget that the Turkish aid organization, IHH, reportedly has ties to terrorist groups like al-Qaeda. Forget the IDF casualties. Forget whatever Israel discovers on board the ships. Israel's enemies are going to believe what they want to believe. The verdict of the UN is pre-ordained. The verdict of the Obama administration is pre-ordained. The verdict of the EU is pre-ordained. The verdict of the Arab world is pre-ordained. The verdict of western academia is pre-ordained. This will be interpreted as an unwarranted attack by the IDF on a humanitarian aid convoy consisting of peace activists and little old ladies like Hedy Epstein (who, two weeks ago, was speaking at UC-Irvine).

Here are some of those "peace activists" captured on Palestinian TV while en route to Gaza as they chant that old peace song, "Khaybar, Khaybar ah Yahud" (PalWatch.org):

That's not "Blowin' in the Wind" in Arabic, folks.

It is also noteworthy that Israel had offered to let the convoy sail into an Israeli port and after due inspection, allow legitimate relief supllies to enter Gaza. This was refused by the flotilla.

So I guess we can look forward to more "fun and games" on North American university campuses as the various Muslim Student Associations and their brethren in the anarchist groups, aided and abetted by all the radical professors, foment more unrest in "righteous indignation". More ominously, I shudder to think of what European Jews will be subjected to in the coming days and weeks.

Gaza Update- Boats Boarded by Israeli Navy-Shooting Reported.

The Israeli Navy has stopped and boarded the Free Gaza flotilla according to Turkish News. There has been shooting. At this point, there are conflicting reports that between 2-10 people are dead. It is believed that the boats are being hauled into Haifa. The below reports are from flotilla tweets.

Anti-Israel Thuggery in Toronto-Ali Mallah

Hat tip to Blazing Cat Fur and Frontpage for the video.

Know what happens when you cross a union thug with a Palestinian supporter?

Meet Ali Mallah. This character is the Vice President of the Canadian Arab Federation and also a high ranking official in the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Here is what happened when pro-Palestinian demonstrators turned out in Toronto to protest the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Here's the report by Kathy Shaidle, whose husband was assaulted (Frontpage Newsrealblog).

http://www.newsrealblog.com/2010/05/30/my-blogger-husband-assaulted-by-union-executive-at-anti-israel-demo-in-toronto-video/

The bad news for Mallah and his followers is that the Canadian government of Steven Harper is solidly pro-Israel.

Fine Dining For the Hungry Travelers of "Free Gaza"

On board the Leakin' Lena

In case you didn't know, there is another Free Gaza flotilla en route to the Gaza strip with all kinds of goodies for the "besieged people" of Gaza. (Translation: Egypt and Israel have closed off their borders to Gaza because they don't want any suicide bombers.) Anyway, I take note that on board the "Freedom Flotilla" is none other than Hedy Epstein, a very nice old lady, albeit misguided, who, two weeks ago, spoke at UC-Irvine about how bad Israel was. Why is Israel so bad? Elementary, my dear Watson. They won't let those poor Palestinian suicide bombers come into Israel proper and blow up pizza parlors and buses. The Israelis are also concerned about weapons smuggling into Gaza by sea and have offered to offload true emergency supplies at an Israeli port for transfer to Gaza.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/31/world/middleeast/31flotilla.html

Well, anyway, here is an exciting update brought to us by none other than "Free Gaza" itself. It appears that the Moment of Truth is near. Check it out:

http://witnessgaza.com/

It's all very confusing, you see. According to the latest Tweets (is that the right word?) Two boats, Challenger I and Challenger II (I'm not making this up, folks) ran aground on Cyprus. Now, they are sending "Messages to the World" that the Israeli navy is about to stop them.

PRAY.

Why pray? Because, if you read the statements coming from Free Gaza, ex-President Jimmy Carter says that "the people of Gaza are starving".

But I do have good news for Ms Epstein and other international humanitarians. When you arrive in starving Gaza (if), you can look forward to dining in a 5-star restaurant in Gaza City.

Introducing Roots of Gaza Restaurant.

http://www.rootsclub.ps/services.php#roots-restaurant

I am informed that the sauteed duck a'la Bordeaux in French dill sauce is President Carter's favorite.

By the way, if you are thinking that maybe these "humanitarians" would use their pull to help out that Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, who has been held in Gaza for four years, forget about it. See below:

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/the-free-gaza-movement-convoy-humanitarians-or-camera-seekers/

So let's follow the dangerous trek together, folks. Will our intrepid travelers feast in Roots tomorrow or will they meet a fate "too terrible to contemplate"?

Hopefully, this time some Egyptian border guard won't be shot and killed by the impatient Gazans waiting for their whatever it is that's on board the "Freedom Flotilla".

Richard Sullivan Video-VJ Day 1945 in Honolulu

I came across this today on Barcepundit. It is an amateur video from one Richard Sullivan on Vimeo. It shows VJ Day (Victory over Japan) Day in Honolulu, August 14, 1945. It is well-worth viewing. (It is apparently going around the Internet today. I hope I am giving sufficient attribution.)

Nancy Pelosi Blames Bush for Oil Spill

"It's Bush's fault!"

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) blamed any lack of oversight surrounding the Gulf Coast oil spill to the Bush administration during a press conference Thursday.

When she was asked by reporters if Democrats could have prevented or mitigated the disaster by closer monitoring of the oil industry, Pelosi had this to say,

“Many of the people appointed in the Bush administration are still burrowed in the agencies that are supposed to oversee the [oil] industry,”

(Of course.)

..... “the cozy relationships between the Bush administration’s agency leadership and the industry is clear.”

(Of course.)

....“I’ve heard no complaints from my members about the way the president has handled it,” Pelosi said.

(Of course not.)

Since Day One.

Pelosi’s remarks come in the wake of the resignation of Elizabeth Birnbaum as Director of Minerals Management Service [MMS], the agency that exercises regulatory authority over those companies involved in offshore shore drilling-like BP.

(Birnbaum was appointed head of MMS in July 2009.)

Two Names on the Wall- A Re-posting

I've been thinking about what kind of posting I would put up to mark Memorial Day. I finally decided to re-post an essay I originally put up in December 2007 in connection with the Viet Nam memorial in Washington DC. It will always be appropriate. I hope you appreciate it.

Dorian Jan Houser (1946-1967)
Michael G Vinassa (1946-1966)

The recent news that someone had defaced the Viet Nam War Memorial in Washington served to bring back my memories of two of my childhood friends whose names appear on that wall. Mike Vinassa and Dorian Houser were both from west Los Angeles, where I also grew up. We belonged to the same high school social club. All three of us entered military service after high school. I was assigned to Germany; they were sent to Viet Nam. I returned and went on with the rest of my life. They died in Viet Nam. Forty years later, with our country once again at war and American soldiers sacrificing their lives for America, we should also remember those that gave their lives in Viet Nam.

Dorian

I first knew Dorian in the 1950s. He and his brother, Lee, played on my little league team. Their father was our coach. Later, my relationship with Dory continued in school. In high school, we both belonged to a club called the Chancellors of Venice. As was common in west LA, there were many (off-campus) clubs formed for social purposes. We all had our club jackets, with the name of the club and locale (Venice or WLA) embroidered on the back. The colors of the clubs varied (ours was green). As we ended our high school days, these clubs disbanded as we went our separate ways-off to college, work or military service. In Dory's case, he entered the Marines in 1966, and after training, was sent to Viet Nam. On May 10, 1967, one month before his 21st birthday, he was killed in Quang Tin. He was hit in the chest by shrapnel and killed instantly.

I happened to be home on leave from Germany when we got the news that Dory was dead. I was able to attend his funeral before returning back to Germany. I'm a little embarrassed to admit it after all these years, but I chose not to wear my uniform to the funeral, simply because I was afraid his family might react emotionally to it. I have always regretted that decision.

Dory was the kind of guy that no one could dislike. He was friendly and unassuming. Needless to say, his funeral was a sad and emotional event. In the last couple of years, I have visited his grave a couple of times since my mother-in-law is interred in the same cemetery. About a year ago, I came across a posting about Dory by his sister. She described her brother and was looking for anyone who knew Dory and remembered him. I answered her post, but the email is no longer valid. As yet, I have not been able to contact her.

Mike

Mike Vinassa was also a member of the Chancellors. He was a stout, barrel-chested kid with a big tattoo on his shoulder, something unusual at the time for someone so young (still in high school). Needless to say, he was tough and didn't mind a good fight. Most other kids knew not to mess with him, but among his friends, he was well-liked. I remember one night we were at a party and he wanted to (playfully) roughhouse with me. We started slap-fighting and wrestling on the front yard of the house, and (somehow) I was able to throw him to the ground and fall on top of him. As you may know, innocent roughhousing among teenagers can easily turn into a real fight, and I remember thinking that Mike might suddenly get mad, so I rolled over and let him get on top, thus letting him win the match.

After high school, I went on to complete 2 years of college before I entered the Army. I basically lost touch with Mike and Dory at that time.

I had recently arrived at my post of duty in Germany when I came across Mike's name while reading the Viet Nam obituaries in the Army Times. It wasn't until several months ago that I learned the circumstances of Mike's death, which occurred on May
22, 1966.

Mike was a member of C Co, Ist Bn, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cav Division (US Army). Ironically, Mike was a short-timer, soon to return to the US, and, on that day, assigned to non-combat duties. Yet he insisted on accompanying his unit on a final combat mission in the Vinh Thanh Valley. It was on that final mission, that Mike lost his life-under heroic conditions. He personally led a group of his comrades in charging and taking out a machine gun nest that was pinning down his unit, but was fatally shot in the process. For his actions, Mike was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. His sole survivor was his mother.

In subsequent years, I have been able to find both their names on the Viet Nam Memorial. (I was living in the Washington area at the time.) As stated, I have visited Dory's grave, but as yet, have not identified Mike's cemetery. When I look back at my life after the Army, I contemplate how I finished college, began my career, got married, had children, retired, and now find myself in my 60s. But as I looked down on Dory's grave, I realized that he and Mike are frozen in time-forever 20 years old. I wonder what became of their parents, the rest of the families.

In a sense, today's soldiers are more fortunate than those who went to Viet Nam. The overwhelming majority of the American people greatly respect them (with the notable exception of the usual mindless idiots who are not worth further mention in this essay). Soldiers returning from Viet Nam were often subject to dispicable treatment from those of their own generation who did everything they could to avoid military service. Once the Viet Nam War ended, the country wanted to forget about it as quickly as possible-after all, it was just a tragic period in our history. We also forgot about our Viet Nam veterans who came back alive-in so many cases, as walking wounded. They deserved so much better from us. They are still among us, and in many cases, still wounded.

All of us who lost friends or family members in Viet Nam should try to keep their memories alive and honor them. God rest their souls.

$$$-UCI Tuition Refund Update-$$$

(Cross-posted from the Orange County Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism)

UC-Irvine students lining up at the cashiers office for refunds

According to my friends over at the Orange County Independent Task Force on Anti-Semitism, almost 500 UC-Irvine students have formally applied for student fee refunds in response to the university funding of the Muslim Student Union to put on their recent Israel-bashing week, which featured four days and nights of dopey speakers.

http://octaskforce.wordpress.com/2010/05/28/over-500-students-hace-thus-far-applied-for-refund-of-uci-student-fees-for-funding-hate-speakers/

Hopefully, the other UC campuses are also being besieged by students fed up with a portion of their student fees going to fund this kind of hate-filled propaganda being fed out by misguided human rights activists, dopey left-wing professors, and other assorted hate-mongers.

So don't wait until the money runs out. Click the below link and get yours while it lasts.

Meanwhile in Chicago.......

Yesterday, the Waveland Street Champs (The Cubs) played their first game against the 2010 Central Division winners-to-be, the St Louis Cardinals. Fans flocked to the Friendly Confines to see the Cubs jump back ino the pennant race.

Instead, Cub starter Randy Wells failed to retire a batter in the first inning and gave up 5 runs before the National Anthem was even finished-as Cub manager Lou Piniella watched helplessly from the dugout (below).

Eventually, the Cards won it 7-1. After the game, soon-to-be ex-manager Piniella blamed the loss on a bad call by the ump.

But there is good news; any day now, Cub "ace" Carlos Zambrano will be returning to the starting rotation.

And you know where that will take them....

A Word From Anthony Weiner /Weener/

"Ich bin ein Weener!"

The following statement was released Friday by the office of Anthony Weiner /Weener/, congressman from New York:

"Everywhere I go, my fans..

As I was saying, everywhere I go, people ask me why I pronounce my name "Weener" instead of "Whiner". The reason is obvious. If I called myself "Whiner", all those conservatives would make fun of my name and call me a whiner.

I am no whiner.

Just because I occasionally whine about tea-baggers and other right-wing nuts like Glenn Beck, who oppose our president's policies doesn't make me a whiner.

I am a weener.

Take Glenn Beck for instance. Lately, he has been trying to undermine our president and our economy by shilling for Goldline, a company that deals in gold coins. What could be more subversive than that? Those ads are misleading, folks. You think gold is a safe investment? Let me tell you; the way things are going, it's gonna take all the gold in Ft Knox to buy one hot dog.

So do the math; the sound investment is not in gold. It's in....

weeners!

But I digress.

Lemme give you a little linguistics lesson. The word wiener actually comes from the German word for a person from Vienna (Wien:/Veen/ with the w pronounced as a v in German. (ie in German is pronounced /ee/, while ei is pronounced /I/). Wiener is also an adjective for anything from Vienna, for example, a wienerschnitzel-Vienna style scnitzel.

I'll pause here to give you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies majors time to catch up.

(One hour later)

As I was saying, calling myself "Weener" instead of "Whiner" not only allows me to avoid all those dumb, conservative "whiner" jokes, but also allows me to follow in the footsteps of my political hero, John F. Kennedy.

"Ich bin ein Weener!"

It also allows me to debunk all that nonsense about investing in gold and keep all you dumb people from watching Glenn Beck. Bottom line? Never invest in gold-invest in weeners.

Hear that sound? That's the sound of....

weeners!

Joe Sestak's Statement on Job Offer

Today, Congressman Joe Sestak (D-PA) issued his statement following the statement from the White House regarding a job offer to drop out of the Pennsylvania Senate race.

"Last summer, I received a phone call from President Clinton. During the course of the conversation, he expressed concern over my prospects if I were to enter the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate and the value of having me stay in the House of Representatives because of my military background.

He said that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel had spoken with him about my being on a Presidential Board while remaining in the House of Representatives. I said no. I told President Clinton that my only consideration in getting into the Senate race or not was whether it was the right thing to do for Pennsylvania working families and not any offer. The former President said he knew I'd say that, and the conversation moved on to other subjects.

"There are many important challenges facing Pennsylvania and the rest of the country. I intend to remain focused on those issues and continue my fight on behalf of working families."

A couple of things don't rhyme here.

First of all, is it credible that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel dispatches a former president to convince Sestak to drop out of the race offering him only a position on an unpaid presidential advisory board? Is it credible that Emanuel could have done this with no involvement from President Obama? Why is it that ex-President Clinton was sent as an emissary to offer a position on an advisory board-with no pay.

If Sestak's current explanation is true, and that it was a casual conversation that passed very quickly on to other issues when Sestak indicated his determination to stay in the race, then why did Sestak make such a big deal out of it in February, when he told reporters of the mysterious offer? He referred to it then as a "high ranking job".

Further, if all that was offered was an unpaid position on some advisory board while he remained in the House, then why did Sestak decline to name the job that was offered?

Why did the White House "vociferously" deny the story in February when Sestak made the claim?

Why did White House spokesman Robert Gibbs continually stonewall questions on the story from February up until today? If the conversation between Clinton and Sestak was so innocent, why did it take three months for the White House explanation to come out?

Now that all the players have gotten their stories straight, it is time for a special prosecutor to have them put those stories on the record-under oath.

$$$ University of California Students-Refunds! $$$

Hey all you University of California students! Did you know that you are entitled to demand refunds from UC for that portion of your tuition that goes to fund on-campus political, ideological or religious groups that you probably don't support?

It's true.

Here is the below link. Please note that this link pertains to UC-Irvine. It is a direct reaction to the Israel Apartheid of May 10 and the speakers brought to the UCI campus by the Muslim Student Union. Obviously, however, this rule must apply to all UC campuses. For all you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies majors, this would be a great term project.

The Sestak "Explanation"

Here it comes. He's gonna bite his lip.

Bill Clinton
The Latest Scandal

So now the White House has come out with an explanation of the attempt to get Joe Sestak to drop out of the Pennsylvania Senate race against Arlen Specter. To me this looks like a carefully crafted ("no controlling legal authority") excuse. And guess who the guy was that approached Sestak. Why none other than Mr Corruption himself, Bill Clinton (at the behest of none other than Rahm Emanuel).

This story still stinks to high heaven and it doesn't jive. The Washington Post has the story below with a link to the White House white paper.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/28/AR2010052802330.html?hpid=topnews

First of all, according to the White House, the only thing offered to Sestak was some sort of UNPAID job on some sort of advisory council. Of course, that would hopefully alleviate charges of something of value being offered in exchange for dropping out of the race. On its face, it appears absurd. What kind of offer is that? In exchange for dropping out of the Senate race, Sestak would have been able to remain in the House and perform some "alternate service" as an unpaid member of an advisory council.

"That's a big f-----' deal!"

Right.

The ball is now in Mr Sestak's court. Is that the full truth and nothing but the truth? Is it true that the Secretary of the Navy job was not offered? Please raise your right hand, Mr Sestak.

Please raise your right hand, Mr Clinton (Oh never mind. What difference would that make?)

What about you, Mr Emanuel?

This in no way removes the need for a special prosecutor who will drag all these people before a grand jury-including the President-now that that precedent has been established by Mr Clinton.

What goes around goes around again, it seems.

Project Meridian Foundation on "True Crimes"

I am pleased to post a press release from the Project Meridian Foundation announcing the appearance of Director Nathan Wilson on True Crimes. Wilson's organization is involved in the problem of human sex trafficking in the US.

"The BEST True Crime Radio Program on the air", according to Erin
Moriarty, CBS’ 48 Hours, hosted by Burl Barer and Don Woldman,
welcomes Nathan Wilson, CEO/President and Founder of Project Meridian
Foundation along with actress Tia Barr to discuss the astounding issue
of human and sex trafficking in the U.S. and the upcoming June 3 fund
raising event in Malibu, California. For more details on the June 3
event, view www.pmfi.org
. True Crimes on Outlaw Radio will air live on Saturday, May 29 at
2:00pm pacific, 4:00pm central, 5:00pm eastern. To listen to the show
click on this link: http://outlawradio.tv/listenlive.html
.

Since 2005, Project Meridian Foundation (PMF) has assisted with the
identification and rescue of more than 1,400 human and sex trafficking
victims of all ages in the U.S. The profits associated with this
industry are growing every year and globally it is estimated that
human trafficking and enslavement have an astonishing annual street
value of over $34 billion dollars.

Many Americans believe that human and sex trafficking only occurs in
third world countries; however, this is not the case. Human and sex
trafficking is a local problem that needs to be recognized by American
citizens. It is because of the “illusion”, that something such as
sex trafficking could not be prevalent in the U.S., that Project
Meridian Foundation has not had the funding needed to take the
necessary actions to help stop this industry. It is reported that
human and sex trafficking affects over four million people per year.
Of these four million people, it is estimated that more than one
million are American children between the ages 11 and 17 who are
victimized and trafficked across state lines. Gangs throughout the
United States including New York, California, Virginia and many others
are responsible for kidnapping and enslaving young girls for purposes
of prostitution.

Project Meridian Foundation is an organization of professionals from
a wide variety of backgrounds working towards one common goal:
bringing human and sex trafficking to an end. Nathan Wilson,
Founder/CEO of Project Meridian Foundation (PMF) has created this
organization which has a two-fold mission. PMF’s first mission is to
assist in the identification, capture, and prosecution of human and
sex traffickers by cooperating with international, federal, state, and
local law enforcement agencies. The second mission of PMF is to
rehabilitate the children and young women who are victims of human and
sex trafficking through Operation Safe House.

It is time to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves, for
those who are so overpowered by fear that they are stuck in this
horrendous lifestyle, for those that are too afraid to call out for
help. It is time for American citizens to join together and bring
these predators to justice and leave behind a safer world for our
children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and neighbors to grow up in.

*About Project Meridian Foundation*

Project Meridian Foundation (PMF) works to assist International,
Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies by offering
education and awareness training so they may identify and recover
victims of human and sex trafficking. PMF strives to bring awareness
to the most vulnerable youth in the United States between the ages of
11 and 17, as well as educating University students; and provides our
country’s leaders, civic groups and other organizations with factual
and relevant information empowering them to take action against human
and sex trafficking. Project Meridian Foundation is preparing for the
launch of Operation Safe House; an initiative to provide the victims
of human and sex trafficking with shelter, healthcare, education, and
vocational training so they can resume a normal life. Project Meridian
Foundation is a tax deductible 501(c) (3) Organization with Federal
Tax identification number EIN # 20-5052942. www.pmfi.org

Obama: " Ain't My F------' Fault-Bush is the F-------' Guy!"

"We're in charge, right boys?"

"From Day One."

"And cleaning house at Interior."

That was pretty much President Obama's stance on the big oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico during his press conference. First, he repeated the mantra that from "Day One", his administration was on top of the problem. Meanwhile, it's Day 38 and that oil just keeps gushing out of that hole. Obama also repeatedly referred to the corruption and mess within the Department of the Interior and the Mineral Management Service (MMS) when George Bush was president.

It's all Bush's fault.

You see, under Bush, there was this corrupt relationship between the MMS and the oil companies. When Obama came into office, he appointed Ken Salazar to be Secretary of Interior and "clean house". Salazar was doing just that, but the job was not "completely" done when the disaster happened (according to Obama).

In a "completely unrelated" matter, the head of the MMS, Elizabeth Birnbaum, resigned today. When asked about it, (was she fired or resigned?) Obama professed complete ignorance. He was busy on something else. He refused to confirm that Birnbaum was basically fired. Anonymous White House sources say she was fired.

Elizabeth Birnbaum

But I am encouraged. The President reiterated that his administration is leading the effort in Louisiana, he is in charge, and that he accepts full responsibility (because he is the President).

And he has fired Elizabeth Birnbaum-but he doesn't know it.

Hillary Clinton and the international community

"We'll get right on it."

Madame Secretary (Hillary Clinton) is still flying around the world (anything to keep her out of Washington). Yesterday, she was in Seoul, Korea telling the world that (the world) must respond to the "unacceptable provocation" of North Korea (They sank a South Korean ship recently, in case you didn't hear.)

"This was an unacceptable provocation...and the international community (village)has a responsibility and a duty to respond."

Meanwhile, back at the UN......

Inside the Gaza Concentration Camp With Lauren Booth

Lauren Booth, British journalist, activist (and sister-in-law of Tony Blair) visited Gaza and publicly called it a concentration camp comparing it to Darfur.

In 2008, Booth sailed to Gaza on one of those Free Gaza convoys, elected to stay when the boat departed, then got stuck there when Egypt and Israel refused her entry.

Here are some photos of Lauren in Gaza (courtesy of Miggie) taken by Agence France Presse. Viewer warning: You may find some of these images disturbing.

Food is hard to find in the "concentration camp".

No sooner did I feature White House advisor John Brennan as one of the "feckless four" when it comes to protecting our nation, now he makes these statements yesterday.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/05/27/counterterror-adviser-defends-jihad-legitimate-tenet-islam/

"He repeated the administration argument that the enemy is not "terrorism," because terrorism is a "tactic," and not terror, because terror is a "state of mind" -- though Brennan's title, deputy national security adviser for counter terrorism and homeland security, includes the word "terrorism" in it. But then Brennan said that the word "jihad" should not be applied either."

I realize that there is another aspect to the term jihad, which refers to an inner struggle to better oneself. There is also another aspect which refers to violent struggle. Brennan might want to travel out to Colorado where the blind sheikh Omar Rahman is preaching violent jihad to himself in that maximum security prison. While he was free, Rahman used the term jihad to clearly talk about war against his enemies, real or imagined. I could list countless others who speak of jihad in its most violent terms, but to my obviously well-informed readers, it would be a repetition of what they already know....

...but of which Brennan has no clue.

How can we defeat an enemy when we refuse to use its own words and define it correctly?

Where does Obama find these characters? This is the same guy who goes around calling Jerusalem "al Quds" (its Arabic name). That makes about as much sense as calling Paris "Parigi" (its Italian name).

But then, nothing makes sense in this administration.

Who is Protecting America?

How would you like to walk down a dark alley with this bunch: Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano, John Brennan and John Morton?

No? Well, we already are. Yes, my dear readers, America is walking down the dark alley that is the world today with none other than these feckless boobs leading the way. These are the empty suits that Barack Obama has put on the front lines of America's defenses. Let's take a look.

First, there is Eric Holder, our Attorney General. This clown came to the fore during the Clinton administration, when, as Deputy Attorney General and assistant to the "legendary" Janet Reno...

...he helped ramrod some of those corrupt Clinton pardons through the pipeline. Remember Marc Rich and the FALN terrorists who were pardoned as Clinton was walking out the White House door?

Eric Holder.

Now, as Attorney General, he is opposing the Arizona immigration law and preparing to challenge it in court-even though he has not read it. Of course, this is the same incompetent who is still trying to decide if Khalid Sheikh Mohammed et al will be tried in New York-or Pittsburgh, or Kansas City or Philadelphia or Butte, Montana. He is also the same nitwit who couldn't answer a simple question last week before Congress as to whether Faisal Shahzad was even partially motivated by jihad when he tried to blow up Times Square.

Outside of all that, he's a good egg.

Then there is Janet Napolitano, our director of Homeland Security. Before that, she was governor of Arizona, presiding over a state sinking under the weight of the flood of illegal aliens storming across her border while she fiddled and accomplished nothing. Now that her successor, Jan Brewer has done something, Napolitano opposes the Arizona law-even though she also has never read it.

She's heard about it though as she testified before Congress last week.

Of course, when you think that to Napolitano, the biggest threat to homeland security is the growing number of right-wing "extremists" and returning war vets, you might not find time to read a 10-page bill. This is the same woman who referred to Faisal Shahzad as a "one-offer" meaning he must have acted alone.

And how about that putz in the White House who is advising the President on minor things like "man-made disasters", John Brennan? This is the guy who calls Jerusalem "al Quds". More recently, he has announced that he is looking for "moderates" in Hizbollah. And of course, he has recently been seen buttering up to the Islamic Society of North America even though they were listed as "unindicted co-conspirators" in the recent Holy Land Foundation trial in Dallas.

Finally, there is the director of ICE, a guy named John Morton. Last week, he made headlines when he called the Arizona law "bad government" and implied that ICE agents may not cooperate with Arizona police who round up illegals. Bad government indeed.

Can you imagine what if we had had this bunch in power during World War II?

Pearl Harbor-"Man-made disaster"

Paris 1940- Hard working Germans taking advantage of "comprehensive immigration reform" and looking for work in France

Guadalcanal- "Overseas contingency operation"

Yalta-"Unconditional surrender"

"Surrender"

"Tell me what you need, Winston."

"Let me know when you got something new."

I guess they just don't make 'em like they used to.

David Axelrod: "There is no Evidence"

On Monday, CNN's John King questioned White House advisor David Axelrod on the allegations of Joe Sestak that someone in the White House offered him a job in the administration if he would drop out of the race for Pennsyvlania senator against Arlen Spector. Here is the interview.

"There is no evidence...."

A couple of points.

First of all, the allegation is serious. What is being alleged is a serious violation of federal law against our electoral system. I may be mistaken, but I believe the appropriate federal statutes are 18 USC 210-211. The questions that must be answered are-

1 Is Sestak telling the truth when he alleges that someone in the White House made such an offer?

2 If so, who made the offer?

3 Was this offer made with the concurrence of President Obama-who would make the appointment (rumored to be Secretary of the Navy)?

If we are to get to the bottom of it, then Sestak must be put under oath. Thus far, he refuses to identify the person making the offer and the job offered. That is not acceptable-especially for one running for US Senator. He has made a serious allegation and must now back it up-under oath.

It is also interesting that "Old Stonewall" himself, Eric Holder, the Attorney General, is refusing to call for a special prosecutor. He obviously wants it to die.

So now, either the DOJ, under Democratic hack Holder or the Congress, under the control of Democrats, must investigate and start putting people under oath. That begins with Sestak and then goes to whomever he is forced to name.

Will they do so?

Will the media keep the pressure on?

Your guess is as good as mine.

John Brennan: "Is There a Moderate in the House?"

So now, President Obama's advisor on man-made disasters and homeland security, John Brennan, has stated that the goal of the administration is to identify "moderates" within Hezbollah.

This from the same boob who calls Jerusalem by its Arabic name (Al Quds).

All I can say is Mr Brennan, good luck in your search for those moderates.

Must be a moderate in there somewhere.

Or there.

I think I see one.
