Big Tip for the Mainstream Media

Once again, it is my duty to help out our colleagues in the mainstream news media. You see, once again, they are on the verge of being scooped by people like the National Enquirer, Fox News, the blogosphere, talk radio -all those folks they look down on. The fact is that there is another big news story brewing that the MSM is not reporting. Could it be that they don't know? Well, here is another famous Fousesquawk clue.

This is none other than John Edwards, former Senator from North Carolina, presidential candidate, VP candidate and winner of the 2008 Fousesquawk "Jerk of the Year" award.

"So what?" says the MSM? Well, here's another clue:

"Yeah, yeah", says the MSM. "That's old news."

Keep thinking that.

The sad fact is that our cherished, once-proud news media has become woefully inadequate in sniffing out the breaking news stories (especially regarding Democratic politicians). Therefore, I am duty-bound to, once again, offer my services and help them keep up with what is going on in the world today.

So, here is my advice to the MSM. You'd better get up off your you-know-whats and assign your ace investigative reporters to check this one out before it breaks and you get scooped again.

  1. First of all, as I have pointed out MULTIPLE times before: FOX NEWS IS A PART OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA. You can't have your own entire TV channel and NOT be mainstream, Gary. So act like an English teacher and start using the word mainstream properly.

Now that that's out of the way, allow me to point out the absurdity of this story: Edwards does not hold any elected office and he is not a candidate for any such office. Thus, why should anyone care? This is on roughly the same level as coverage of Michael Jackson. In other words, WHO CARES? Apparently you do. If you think others should care, why should they care?

  2. Gee Bryan, sounds like my final warning. Actually, you are correct. Fox is part of the mainstream media. Actually, it is the king of the mainstream media when it comes to ratings.

As for your second point, when John Edwards was having, concealing and denying his affair, he was running for president, was he not?

Rightfully or not, famous big shots don't go into total obscurity. What do you think the media would do if tomorrow, it were announced that Bush had just had a child out of wedlock? Don't tell me they would ignore it because Bush is no longer president.

The fact of the matter is that in his abc interview, Edwards admitted the affair, but maintained he was not the father because the time frame didn't match. In other words, the affair had ended before she became pregnant. Now, he is going to (reportedly) admit he is the father.

This guy could have been our president (or VP). If he were a Republican, the media would be all over this story.

Once it breaks, they will come in after the fact and have the obligatory prime time interview on ABC, NBC or CBS then forget about it as they wait for the next Republican scandal to pounce on.

Can't you see the hypocrisy and the double standard?

  3. It just makes me think of "who amongst you that is without sin cast the first stone". Gary, really, who cares? Jesus was without sin, yet even he didn't cast a stone.

Bush may not have done what Edwards did, but he did cause the death and disfigurement of so many young Americans, now that I can't forgive.

  4. Ingrid,

Let's set aside the affair and the child for a minute. As we speak, a federal grand jury in Raleigh is investigating whether Rielle Hunter received thousands upon thousands of bucks from the Edwards campaign. (We know she got the $, the question is from where.) If that is the case, somebody needs to throw some stones because that is criminal and could send Edwards to prison.

This is the same hypocrite who went around talking about the "immorality" of "Two Americas" and talked about Bush as if he were Simon Legree.

  5. If a crime was committed, there should be consequences. I have no problem with that. Is there an honest man in this world?

  6. Ingrid,

Yes, actually there are a lot of honest men in the world. But Edwards is apparently, not one of them.
