In case you missed it last night in the debate, McCain actually brought up the fact that Obama's campaign has contributed over $800,000 to ACORN, the organization that is working like little busy beavers to register as many fraudulent voters as they can to vote for -you know you.
I always thought political campaigns were trying to receive money, not give it. What gives here? What does the Obama campaign expect to get out of this gift?
Votes. Fraudulent votes. What that $832,000 represents is operational expenses for ACORN workers around the country-or if you prefer, "walkin' around money".
We already know that ACORN is or has been under investigation in about 20 states. In some states, like Washington, ACORN workers have already pled guilty to submitting phony voter registration cards. A week or so ago, their Las Vegas offices were raided by authorities. Today, the FBI has confirmed that ACORN is under investigation nationwide.
And nowhere is the problem more serious than in Ohio, a crucial battleground state. The Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat, has admitted that of some 600,00 new registrations, about 200,000 are suspicious. So what does she plan to do about it? Nothing, if she has her way. It's too much work, she says. So now, the Federal courts have ordered her to take action-which she is appealing to the Supreme Court.
Not surprisingly, the New York Times is taking Brunner's side in the controversy:

What action can Brunner take? Well, she could re-establish the link between state voter rolls and the DMV, which she took down and refuses to put back up. She could allow the local election boards to check the suspicious registration forms for those that would be voting in their districts. (This is the specific issue the courts are mandating.)
Ohio has a system where people can register and vote the same day. There has been one case uncovered where a bunch of college students moved into Ohio and established residence -at the same residence-then registered to vote. One student, it turns out, has already voted and gone to the UK, where he/she apparently resides.
Given Obama's past association with ACORN added to the organization's obvious corruption and malfeasance, it is clear why a presidential campaign would send $832,000 to this bunch. As we speak, ACORN is engaged in a conspiracy to steal this election for Obama. The fact that the campaign has contributed this much money to ACORN makes Obama complicit-to put it mildly.
If a majority of the American voters truly plan to vote for Obama, and he is elected, then we must accept that verdict. However, if this turns out to be a close election that is decided by voter fraud in this or that state, then we will have lost our democracy.
I was pretty sure that we lost our democracy in 2000, if it even existed to begin with.
ReplyDeleteBryan,
ReplyDeleteI could write a 10 page response on why Bush won Florida fair and square and Gore tried to steal it from him. If you want to buy in on that propaganda that Gore actually won, that's your perogative.
But ask yourself:
By which count did Gore come out ahead?
Who tried and successfully had overseas troops' absentee ballots invalidated?
Which voters never had their ballots counted in Florida (aside from the above)?
