Netherlands: Another Anti-Jewish Bombing Attack

Nijkerk

In the past couple of weeks, there have been a series of bombs set off at Jewish sites in Belgium and the Netherlands. The explosions go off in the wee hours of the morning, and to date, there have been no injuries. Early Saturday morning, the Israel Center, the offices of Christians for Israel, was the target. Again, there were no injuries, but the implications are obvious and fit the pattern of the earlier attacks. Police are investigating, but as yet, no one is in custody. Hopefully, the perpetrators of this and the other despicable and cowardly attacks will be brought to justice.

Below is our translation of the statement by Christians for Israel. Note that we have inserted (sic) after the reference to Passover.

Christians for Israel target of attack

4 April 2026

In the early morning hours of April 4, there was an explosion at the Israel Center in Nijkerk. The blast was heard over a wide area. The damage was limited, but the impact is large. The attack fits into a troubling pattern of earlier attacks on Jewish and pro-Israel targets in the Netherlands and Belgium. The police are investigating as to who is responsible.

As Christians for Israel, we are shocked that our Israel Center is a target of an attack. That it occurred on the eve of Passover, the most important celebration for Christians (sic), makes it more poignant. This attack is not only directed at us but is also directed at the Jewish community in the Netherlands, which has long seen itself confronted with threats and intimidation. This causes us great concern.

Attacks are meant to cause fear. We will not submit to that; we go on with our work, we have a Biblical message of God's faithfulness to His people, and we are committed to fighting anti-Semitism. In a free society, there may be differences of opinion, and there are many, but that is no excuse for violence. This is a line that may not be crossed.

We are thankful for all the support we have received in the past months from our supporters, who have helped us with the security of our premises. Today demonstrates once again that this is necessary.
