France: Rightist Activist Beaten to Death in Lyon by Antifa-Type Group

On February 12, a young man named Quentin Deranque was attacked and beaten by several masked men in Lyon. He subsequently died of his injuries. The incident occurred while the victim and others were protesting the speaking appearance of Rima Hassan, a Palestinian-born activist and politician with the France Insoumise party in France, a far-left party. Hassan is known in France as an advocate for the Palestinian cause.

As yet, there are no arrests in the case, but French police say that they have identified suspects who belong to the far-left Antifa-type organization Jeune Garde. Deranque is reported in the French media as being a far-right activist and supporter of a far-right feminist organization called Nemesis, which was protesting the appearance by Hassan. Deranque was reportedly acting as security for the protesters.
