My latest Hitler parody masterpiece!!
There's a new Broadway play opening up about the life and wives of Henry VIII. What's really newsworthy here is that Dylan Mulvaney, star of stage and screen, and who was last seen adorning Bud Light cans, has been chosen to play the role of Anne Boleyn!
Back in Berlin, Broadway aficionado, Adolf Hitler, viewed the selection with a critical eye.
Seriously, Gary?
ReplyDeleteYou a big Broadway fan now?
And I know, I know, you're going to respond with: "It'S a JoKe! GeT a SeNsE oF hUmOr!"
But the thing about jokes is that they need to be funny. You're just being a bully and punching down at trans people - a demographic that is victimized by violence at four times the rate of anyone else. Effective humor and satire punches UP.
And the Hitler parody thing stopped being funny more than fifteen years ago. What's next? A "sock it to me!" reference?
You're like Fozzie Bear...if he was mean. (And no criticizing me for that dated reference.)
No, not seriously. Actually, I thought I was punching up at Hitler for being transphobic. At least I was satirizing the Broadway folks who made the selection. As for Mulvaney, he/she is a public figure by his/her own choice.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but this isn't the first time you picked on her.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think that you have a crush on her. That's okay. I don't judge.
Yeah, right. I also drink Bud Light.
