University of Michigan comedian Juan Cole has posted another "blockbuster" article on his curiously-named blog, Informed Comment. It concerns the latest diplomatic power move by the Chinese government. It seems China has agreed to try and get "Palestine", led by President-for-life Mahmoud Abbas, into the "prestigious" Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Even more exciting than that, China has expressed a desire to mediate that elusive Middle East peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Of course, as the article points out, the other members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization must agree to the inclusion of "Palestine". And just who are the other members?
