Sweden and (Parental) Child Abductions (2)

Hat tip Vlad Tepes and Gates of Vienna for subtitling. Translation by Fousesquawk.

This week, we translated an article from the Swedish State news outlet, SVT, on the problem of parental child abductions in Sweden. This involves one parent who during a separation, divorce, or custody dispute, absconds with the child or children back to their country of origin, usually in the Middle East.

The article we previously translated and posted contains 5 videos. We have now subtitled all of those videos into English. The stories are heartbreaking. In the below cases featured by SVT, the victims/ parents are usually women, but there is one Iraqi father whose wife took their daughter to Morocco. The wives involved may be immigrants themselves or Swedish women.

Swedish social service agencies are trying to halt this practice by issuing travel bans against one parent removing a child from the country without the other parent's consent. That, along with the issue of terrorists leaving Sweden to join ISIS or some other terror organization (and in some cases taking their wives and children with them) has brought Swedish social services into the picture. Many Muslim activists in Sweden are accusing the government, and particularly, social services of trying to "kidnap" the children from Muslim families.
