From La Provence

The semi-final kickoff had not yet started this evening when emotions got heated in Avignon. A few minutes before the France-Morocco match, a mobile gendarme was injured in the leg by a driver who refused to comply.

Originally, it was officers of the BMU who wanted to check this driver on Boulevard Limbert in Avignon. but he refused the check and hit the mobile gendarmes deployed as reinforcements in the security plan surrounding the match at Porte Magnanen. The driver was arrested by the BAC (police) on the Avenue des Sources. He was placed in custody for violence against a public official. In addition, two other persons were arrested by police when they were found in possession of mortars, possession of which was banned by the Prefecture of Vaucluse.
