I am cross-posting a disturbing article from the Jewish Journal that describes how a BDS (Boycott, Divest and Sanctions) chapter in Boston has put out a map of numerous Jewish institutions in the Boston area that they (BDS) claim assist or support the state of Israel's "colonialization" and "genocide against the Palestinians". The list of institutions includes synagogues and schools.
The intent is obvious. This is an attempt to point out locations for demonstrations and for anyone so inclined-attacks. Five and a half years after the April 1933 Nazi boycott of Jewish shops, those shops were sacked and synagogues burned (1938 Kristallnacht). Is it unreasonable to fear that something similar is in store for any of these Jewish institutions?
This BDS action is pure intimidation. It is the same intimidation that was spawned on our college campuses by pro-Palestinian activists, and it has spread to our cities and streets.
It is also based on a lie-the lie that Israel is occupying Palestinian land and committing genocide. Patently ridiculous.
I just hope that the first time one of these Boston-area Jewish institutions is subjected to violence that lawsuits against this BDS group will quickly follow. In addition, the Boston police and the FBI should be investigating this.
