Germany: Does the Media Downplay Muslim Anti-Semitism?

Hat tip PI News-Politically Incorrect (Germany). Translation by Fousesquawk.

The conservative German website, PI-News-Politically Incorrect, has an interesting analysis of a German news documentary on anti-Semitism in Germany. While covering anti-Semitic demonstrations by Muslims in four German cities, ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen-German Public Television 2 (Rheinland Palatinate) video states that "most perpetrators are assigned to the right, but there is also a lot of hostility from Muslims," even though they are told by Jews that anti-Semitic attacks consistently come from Muslims-not right-wingers. That comment has led PI to conclude that ZDF is downplaying Muslim anti-Semitism.

The below accompanying written article is translated by Fousesquawk.

ZDF* reports on Islamic Jew hatred-and quickly downplays it

*ZDF: Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen-German Public Television 2 (Rheinland Palatinate)

October 29, 2021

By Manfred Black- In an 8-minute film, the last edition of ZDF's magazine, Frontal, is about fanatical anti-Semitism from Muslims in 4 German cities.  It's not just about evil insults, rather it is about evil, violent acts.

Even the moderator in this Frontal issue downplays Muslim anti-Semitism: "Most anti-Semitic acts are assigned to the right, but there is also a lot of hostility from Muslims." The truth is: The shoe turns the other way.

The ZDF editorial staff apparently closes itself off from the truth, which is described in detail in their own film. The world view of these ZDF editors is apparently nailed down; Facts that do not fit their beliefs-their ideology- are simply ignored. Even the best-their own journalistic research- apparently doesn't help.

In Cologne, militant Muslims demand the destruction of Israel

Two ZDF employees were on the road in Cologne, Hamburg, Gelsenkirchen, and Hagen for the Frontal broadcast. From all 4 cities, the TV team broadcast images and audio which showed that Muslim anti-Semitism is spreading more and more radically.

For example, on the Cologne Heumarkt, a crowd recently chanted in solidarity with Mohammed Deif, the commander of the military arm of Hamas, the Qassam Brigade. This powerful, Arab military unit wants no compromise with Israel. This state in the Middle East must be wiped out.

In the middle of Germany, hundreds of demonstrators demanded the destruction of Jewish Israel. And a number of police stood by doing nothing. The Frontal film let a passerby comment, someone who had observed the loud hate. This citizen says that these images are disturbing because they were taken in a country whose government today officially describes the existence of Israel as part of its own reason for being. In a country in which 6 million Jews were murdered.

An Arab almost knocks a Jew's eye out

Just in September, there was a brutal anti-Semitic act of violence in the street. PI-News reported on it. At regular intervals, Jews and some of their friends meet in the Hanse City in front of the train station in a "vigil for Israel and against anti-Semitism."

For one of the demonstrators, the vigil ended with a serious punch in the face: Michael T. suffered serious injuries, had to be operated on, and is now threatened with blindness.

Immediately before the act of violence, he and his mother standing nearby were insulted: "Sons of whores", "Free Palestine", "Shit-Jews", and, "I'll fu-- your mother"- that's what several noticeably young political activists shouted.

The perpetrator, who struck him and was later arrested, is just 16 years old. The press speaks about a "curly-haired" (person). His name is Aram A., he is Muslim, and lives in Berlin with his Arab parents. His mother, who according to research by BILD, "is regularly at demonstrations that support the radical-Islamist Hizbollah and the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad," has explained that her family is "against Israel". This can also be read about at PI-News.

The young attacker is under contract with a Berlin film agency. He has already played one of the major roles in a major film. It is a Holocaust film, in which Aram A. took the role of an anti-Jewish bully.

"Never attacked by Nazis or the right"

The initiator of the vigil in front of the Hamburg train station, Andreas Müller, was interviewed in the Frontal article.  Müller formulated clear words: "Everyone talks about anti-Semitism from the right. In 6 years here, we have never been attacked by Nazis or the right. We are always harassed and spit on by Muslims.  "You shit-Jews why are you here?" That's what we regularly hear. It's now normal."

The Frontal article also shows that there was a strong demonstration against Israel in Gelsenkirchen and that in Hagen, a Muslim youth was prevented at the last minute from setting off a bomb in the local synagogue.

Western Europe: Jews fear Muslims

But this film sequence doesn't prevent the Frontal editorial staff in their presentation from claiming that anti-Semitism today is mainly from the "right".

There is certainly right-extremism, especially in some territorial states. But this right extremism, by far,  cannot be compared in quantity with the violent acts of fanatics, especially in larger cities, by the ranks in which tens of thousands of Muslims belong. Not to mention terrorists in Western Europe.

These facts do nothing to change the practice observed in many places by police authorities in the case of anti-Semitic attacks or graffiti whose perpetrators are not known, simply and falsely attributing them to "rightwing" perpetrators. Experts know that the majority of these involve Muslim or radical-left perpetrators.

The majority of the extreme-left Antifa scene is strongly anti-Israel oriented. That applies also to a large part of the Die Link (The Left) party, and occasionally also to the Greens.

Inversion of values

Jan Fleischhauer-who wrote for a number of years as a commentator for Der Spiegel and is now a Focus columnist- has, for some time, spoken of an "inversion of values" in a similar context. Political truth nowadays has been turned on its head.

In the media, like a prayer wheel, it is falsely claimed that Jews today all over the Federal Republic, have a fear of the "rightists". In reality, Jewish citizens here in this country and in all West European lands, generally fear radical Muslims.

The left ideology of a large part of German journals-almost continuously marked by a pronounced (pro) Muslim friendliness- is not shaken by any facts. They always want to put Muslim outrages in the background-or if possible, not even take notice of them.

Fousesquawk comment: I am not clear on this question. While the ZDF documentary is clearly focused on Muslim anti-Semitism in Germany, that one comment has caused PI-a German blog- to state that ZDF, like most German media, is downplaying Muslim anti-Semitism while focusing on anti-Semitism from the right. I'm not sure that was the intent of this film and ZDF, but far be it for me to argue with native German speakers. We are working on getting a full English translation of the video.  Irregardless, what is clear is that there is a big problem with anti-Semitism within Muslim communities in Germany and the rest of Western Europe.
