At Washington University in St Louis, the College Republican chapter had planted small American flags on campus to mark the 20th anniversary of 9-11. On Saturday (9-11), one student was captured on video by a College Republican member removing the flags and putting them in trash bags. The below link from Daily Mail has a report with video and photos.
The incident has caused quite a stir on campus. The chancellor of the university has called the student's actions reprehensible, but predictably, the campus newspaper prefers to stress the "Islamophobic" aspect of the story (the student involved is Muslim-American). The campus paper, Student Life, has three articles on the story.

I sent in my two cents worth to the campus newspaper in the reader thread. It basically states that I would condemn any threats and/or violence against the student, but it would be nice if there were some condemnation of his actions from the Muslim groups on campus rather than only express fears of retaliation or Islamophobia. Maybe some Muslim students have criticized this student's actions, but you won't see them in the campus paper.
