What Will Happen to Michael Flynn?

One of the many downsides of a looming Biden presidency is that we will have a new attorney general and Department of Justice. William Barr will be gone, and I suspect so will the investigations into the malfeasance of the Obama administration, DOJ, FBI, CIA actions in trying to submarine Trump in 2016-and beyond. People like John Brennan, James Clapper, Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe can breathe a sigh of relief. It's all going to go away.

But what about Michael Flynn? As things now stand, the current Justice Department, seeing the injustice that had been done, moved to dismiss the case. Judge Emmet Sullivan, however, has refused to do so and is drawing out the process. Will that now extend into the new administration? If so, will the new DOJ reverse its position on Flynn and ask that the prosecution go forward, that Flynn's request to withdraw his guilty plea be rejected, and the court proceed to sentencing? As things now stand, Judge Sullivan has the latest appeals court ruling in his favor.

I am not a fan of presidential pardons and feel they should be reserved for clear cases of injustice. I do hope, however, that if the Flynn case is not resolved in his favor by January, Trump should pardon him before leaving office. I believe he will do so.
