This week we reported a statement by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign pledging to fight campus Semitism after a series of complaints by Jewish students. There is more to the story, however. The Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights has launched its own investigation into campus anti-Semitism at UIUC. The investigation was announced three days prior to the UIUC statement.
As always, I go to the campus newspaper to see what they are saying and reporting. The below article is from the current Daily Illini. It is a letter to the editor and is the only article I see addressing the issue. I have submitted my comments in the reader thread.
