It's Official! Redskins Are Out

For years, Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder resisted all demands to change the name of his team. But now, with political correctness running amok, even Snyder has given in. As of today, the name "Redskins" no longer exists. We don't have a new name yet, but it has also been reported that the team intends to keep its burgundy colors. So now the game is on to find a new name.

A few years ago, when the Redskins were lousy, I suggested the name, "All-Stars", but after all these years (and the team is still lousy), that name never caught on. So it's back to square one.

I got it!

Since they intend to keep the burgundy colors, how about the Washington Winos? It has a nice ring to it, the town is full of winos, and the possible logos are endless.

Now we need a new fight song. "Hail to the Redskins" just won't do.
