Dutch Police Find Private Jail and Torture Chamber

Hat tip Ben, Gates of Vienna and Vlad Tepes. Translation by Fousesquawk.

The Dutch police are announcing that on June 22, they raided a warehouse and discovered 7 shipping containers, six of which were set up as holding cells and the 7th as a torture chamber, sound-proofed and fitted with a dentist's chair. The seizure came at a location in North Brabant near the Belgian border. One man is in custody in Rotterdam in connection with the case. In total, there are 6 detainees. The Dutch police operation was code-named 26Lemont.

The Dutch news sources and the police are tight-lipped about the identity of the gang other than it is a drug gang. Other Dutch sources are reporting the partial name* of a Dutch man believed to be the ringleader. He is described as a 40-year-old gym owner in Utrecht. There are also possible connections to the Mocro (Moroccan) Mafia of the Netherlands though this is not yet clear. The man was reportedly arrested in June in the Netherlands. It has also been reported that this group may have been in opposition to the notorious Mocro leader Ridouan Taghi, who was arrested last year and extradited to the Netherlands from the UAE. He may also be linked to Hamza Ziani who was murdered in Torremolinos, Spain in 2018.

We will follow this case because there is so much to learn. In the meantime, here is an English sub-titled video released by the Dutch police, in which you can see what they found. Translation by Fousesquawk.

*Update: Dutch media is now partially identifying the alleged ringleader as Robin van O.
