With all the hullabaloo going on these days, I was wondering what our old friend, UC Irvine Middle East studies professor, social justice warrior, Campus Watch legend, and part-time rocker, Mark Levine, had to say about all this. The #Jan25 uprising in Egypt began with a protest against police violence. 18 days later President Mubarak was gone. In between people realized the only way forward was to demand the "downfall of the system."

We need a monument in DC to all the victims of racist policy brutality and murder. That would be a start to the healing
