Matteo Salvini, leader of the Lega political party in Italy and formerly minister of interior, is scheduled to go on trial in Catania (Sicily) July 4 on charges of unlawful detention, "kidnapping", or whatever the prosecutors want to call it. This is over Salvini's refusal as interior minister last year to allow a ship to disembark at an Italian port with some 100 migrants on board.
In this brief video (which ends in mid-sentence) Salvini takes to Twitter to announce the pending trial and to point out the irony that, in spite of the fact that everything else in Italy is shut down, his trial must go on.
