Two Americans Among ISIS Fighters Captured in Syria

Hat tip SDF Press

I vividly remember back in January 2015 when I attended an event at the Islamic Center of Orange County in Garden Grove, California that purported to be dedicated to countering (Islamic) extremism. One of the panelists was CAIR's SoCal director,  Hussam Ayloush, who, for some inexplicable reason, calls himself a human rights activist. On this occasion, which I videotaped, Ayloush referred to the "twenty or so" American-based Muslims who had gone off to join ISIS while asking why nobody was talking about the "thousands" of American Jewish men who had joined the Israeli Defense Forces, "killing the people of Gaza".

We can now add two more names to the "twenty or so" that Ayloush was talking about. Two of the five men captured in Syria are identified as Americans. They are Zaid Abed al-Hamed and Warren Christopher Clark, aka Abu Mohammad al-Ameriki.

Make that 22, Mr Ayloush. (Actually, the number is much much higher not even including those arrested by the FBI as they were departing the US to join ISIS.) Thousands of "international" fighters have made the trek to Syria or Iraq to join ISIS while Western-based Somalis have returned to that country to join Al Shabaab.
