The Border: It Is a Crisis

Conservative columnist Deroy Murdoch has written a piece in National Review  defending administration statements that aside from Mexicans and Central Americans, many people from other parts of the world-particularly terrorist threat countries- have been caught trying to sneak across our southern border with Mexico.

Ever since President Trump's speech to the nation, the media and Democrats have been insisting there is no crisis on the border. Not only are they ignoring the recent efforts by large numbers of Hondurans to crash the border, they also insist refute the administration's claims that 90% of the opiates entering America come across the Mexican border. Their response? The bulk of that number comes through the ports of entry.

We begin with Murdoch's column in National Review.

"The threat is real. The number of terror-watchlisted individuals encountered at our Southern Border has increased over the last two years. The exact number is sensitive and details about these cases are extremely sensitive. But I am sure all Americans would agree that even one terrorist reaching our borders is one too many."

"Today, those known as Special Interest Aliens (SIAs) are discovering new and creative routes to cross our border. One such way is through the exploitation of illicit pathways throughout the Western Hemisphere. Offering solutions to close these routes and shut off entry ways into America for SIAs must be a priority moving forward, since some of these migrants have been affiliated with foreign terror groups and organized crime."

Take your pick: Illegal aliens, criminal gangs, drug smuggling, human smuggling, and terrorists trying to get into the US. The Democrats and their allies in the media and the open borders crowd are in denial. This is not a "manufactured crisis". It is a crisis.
