Guess What Happened in Barcelona Today

Interior maintains terror alert level 4 after the attack in Barcelona

The government agrees to activate a protocol with additional self-protection measures for the security forces

The Interior Ministry has agreed this Monday to maintain the terrorist alert at level 4 in force after the Mossos shot and killed a man who this morning entered into the police station of Cornella (Barcelona) with a knife shouting, "God is Great". The terrorist alert-with 5 levels- has remained unchanged since June of 2015. The Interior (Ministry) has decided , nevertheless, to reinforce the security of the agents of the forces and Security Agencies of the State, activated a protocol with additional measures of self defense  as reported by Interior through a statement.

When the alert is at level 4, the terror threat assessment panel meets at least once a week to evaluate any change in the threat situation.

In addition, the dead man is identified as Abdelouahab Taib. The Dutch periodical, De Telegraaf, identifies him as a 29-year-old Algerian.
