Women Protesting Gang Rape in Stockholm Suburb Heckled by Men

Hat tip Fria Tider

Last August, a young Swedish woman was gang raped by about 20 men in the Stockholm suburb of Fittja. It was a particularly shocking incident in which local neighbors refused to render assistance to the woman even after the ordeal was over.

Police investigation led to the arrest of five suspects all immigrants. They have now been ordered released by a court for lack of evidence.

On Tuesday evening, a group of woman  held a protest in the area. What they encountered was a group of men heckling them. I have translated the below article from Swedish to English. I was unable to catch most of the back and forth shouting in the video, but one woman expressed her support for the victim while a man responded that the victim was a "junkie".

*Note: I apologize for the text problems. In order to translate, I copy the original text onto my blog and then translate. That causes the text issues which I cannot always fix. Anywhere, the story is there.

The video can be accessed in the below link.

* Correction: This incident happened last August. Police used DNA to track down 5 suspects who have since been released for lack of evidence.

Domestic. When a group of women gathered together in Fittja to demonstrate against the controversial  judgment of release for rape (suspects),  a group of men appeared.
"Go home and cry! The woman was a junkie", they shouted among other things.

The women had stated that she (victim) was raped under very brutal ways by up to 20 menin a stairwell in the Stockholm suburb of Fittja.

But the five immigrants who were being prosecuted for involvement in the rape were freed on Wednesday by Soderholm court for lack of evidence.

The court directed hard criticism of the investigation conducted by police in the case.

The court's decision to release (the suspects) has led to protest, and on Tuesday evening, the women gathered in Fittja to demonstrate.

A film of the event that has been widely spread on Facebook shows how a group of men show up and begin to heckle the demonstrators.

"Were you there when it happened? I was there shouted one of them.

"(Go) home and cry. There is only (for you) to go home and cry", said another.

When the demonstrators answered that they were there to support the woman (victim), one of the hecklers responded,

"The woman was a junkie."
