Those in America who speak out about the threats posed by Islam are aware of Somalia-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Ali fled her family and Islam while living in Europe and went on to become a member of the Dutch parliament. Due to numerous threats on her life, she was forced to flee to the US.
Speaking today with a friend in Sweden, I became aware of another Somali native, Mona Walter, who left Islam and later converted to Christianity. Like Ali, she must live in a protected status due to threats on her life for leaving Islam and speaking out about the violent nature of its ideology. Below is a video produced about Walter by CBN News, a Christian outlet.
How interesting it is that believers of other religions can endure criticism without resorting to violence. That is because there is no death sentence for leaving other religions or committing blasphemy against other religions. Religious freedom is a wonderful thing. It is a shame more Muslims don't recognize that.
To underline that point, below is a sub-titled video of Mona speaking in 2015 in the Muslim suburb of Rinkeby, outside Stockholm, one of Sweden's so-called "no-go zones". With police as security, she goes and braves the insults of Muslims as she spreads her message. This lasts about 7 minutes and is well worth watching.
Mona Walter, every bit as much as Ayaan Hirsi Ali, is a hero.
