I once heard a man say he couldn't understand how a human being could love an animal. I feel sorry for someone like that. They don't understand that an animal can also feel love for a human. They don't know the joy that a dog can bring to humans. But there is also the pain when the day comes that we must let go of our faithful companion. That is the pain that I am feeling right now.
